Hey Wanta - Be, The later Mustang racks are all power, They are less sensitive so they have a better road feel. I still prefurr the earlier non - power racks. Fatmans is advertizing that there new crossmembers will hold either one. Check out ther web page or call them, they are real helpful. HonestFrank www.fatmanfab.com

Hey Frank the better half wants power steering so I thought I would ask about the newer mustang power racks I do know they are cheaper to buy at the local parts house than the mustang II.But not sure about the difference in mounting I'll try and give Fatmans a call. Thanks

The newer mustang racks utilize a cast aluminum housing and an o-ring fitting for the pressure and return lines, they are also wider by less than 3/4in. and may not fit your aftermarket bench without moving the mounting pads. But I guess this depends what you call "later" as many streetrod suppliers utilize the t-bird rack and I have found it to work fine, but you still have to reduce the pressure from a chevy pump slightly to get the correct road feel.(not as much as the early mustII rack) but the late mustang rack is an odd bird, with way different mounting position, and a v-shaped spline
