Wow, very cool Alan. That might be the lowest maintenance woody around. My wife and I are expecting next month and I've already been checking out the little Jeeps. I'm just not sure if we'll be getting the pink or black one yet.

Jason, I am 44 years old and I remember having a pedal car. I hesitate getting my son a battery operated car as it will only tell him that it is ok to be lazy and let others and other things do his work.

I just got our littlest one of the pink Barbie Power Wheels Jeeps, the one that has the little radio inside (Cruzin Tunes).

She loves it, at 3 years old she's driving it around like a pro, even with the low-speed lockout screw removed (so it does 5MPH). We started her on a Power Wheels quadbike toy at 2, and she had lots of fun balancing on that and making it go, even after Ol' Dad rewired the handlebar with a power window switch for Reverse... 8^D

FWIW, I was handed down my Dad's old Murray pedal car at 5 years old, when the rest of the neighbor kids had Big Wheels trikes. That old Murray got a lot of Krylon spray jobs while I had it. Later, as a teenager (read- young, stupid, and a self-proclaimed know-it-all) I THREW IT AWAY, not realizing until later what it would be worth, restored.

Live and learn

Speedway Automotive has the 'you-build-it' pedal car kits that are a virtual duplicate of the old Murray Dipside Champion I got from my father. Think they go for around $150, unpainted. A steal in my eyes...
