Endicot Car Show in Dedham, Ma.

I'm not a trophy hound or anything, but I've been to the Endicot show this past weekend and won't be going next year. My studebaker is unfinished and was classed with custom cars since there was no unfinished class. No problem,my car is a radical custom anyway. There were 3 cars in my class and they were giving out 3 trophies per class. When the awards started, I learned that I was not getting third place because my car was not finished. I was not told that when they took my $$$$ for entry! What are they going to do with the trophy that was to go to third? I know what they can do with it! I won't be back next year when the car is finished! Damn, I feel better now.

Dave, Since there the ones that put you in that class. Atleast you should got the third place trophy. Did you talk to them after the awards about what happen? You should always tell the club that put on the show what happen, and tell them the story. Also you should tell the club that puts on any shows that you like the show or didn't. ( and tell them way, so they can have a better show next time).
I've been to shows that didn't have street rod classes. So they put me in modified class.(that class is open to all years).
Some clubs are in it for the money. That's why they open the show to all years. Been to a show that a 1999 corvette won best of show. Looked like it came from the show room, nothing done to it.
Alot of car guys are mad about the open shows. All i hear is (what did he do to that car)? If a club would put on a show for the newer cars they wouldn't have that big of a turn out. It's us street rodders, lead sleds, customs and muscle cars that bring in the people.

Dave take way the awards part of the show. Did you have fun at the show?
Don't get me wrong, I still think you should of gotten the trophy.

Time to get off my soap box now. I could go on and on about shows. ( good and bad)

Rick
