Block hugger headers

Ok I have a problem. My stock straight down ram horn manifold on my small block chevy is right on top of my r&p steering universal, I would really like to know how close to the block the hugger headers come. I know I could ask the manufactors but I would rather ask rodders that use them
If I could get a measurement from block to pipe edge that would be really helpfull. There ain't much room in a 37 Willys Pickup especially when it's right hand drive.

I have a 1930 2dr sedan the engine sits relatively straight no radical tip towards the firewall and I have a vega box and HPC headers I had to cut the elbow that comes with the header and turn it and reweld it to clear the vega box but HPC recoated it and everything is fine.

Mine measure 4 inches from block to outside of collector flange. Hope this helps.

YOU MAY TRY A DIFFERENT RAMS HORN.....THEY COME IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT ANGLES, I HAVE SOME THAT TURN ABOUT 30 DEGREES FROM STRAIGHT DOWN. RAMS HORNS ARE VERY GOOD.....STOCK CAR AND STREET RACERS HAVE KNOWN THIS FOR A LONG TIME. IAM CERTAINLY NOT IMPRESSED WITH HEADERS FOR STREET USE....THEY HAVE TO BE OPEN FOR RESULTS..OTHERWISE I FEEL THEY ARE A PAIN.....HOWEVER, SOMETIMES HEADERS ARE THE ONLY WAY............TOM

I have tried a couple of different styles of rams horns , some that turn back but none that turn in towards the block and over here in Oz the can cost anything up to a $150 a pair and then you don't know whether they will do the job.
