I too don't care for the wiper for several reasons. I've had open roadsters for some time with NO top and the use of Rain-X takes care of that remarkably well. To satisfy some state inspections that have required wipers I used the "hand operated" type just to get thru then removed it. The state of Texas has gotten harder in that they require a motorized version and hence, the reason for "antique" plates this time. No inspection required but I bet that will change too some day.
I suppose the NSRA safety inspection is OK but to me,it's more cake than icing. It should NOT be a requirement for any awards or incentives. It should be totally voluntary if for no other reason than to see if you missed anything important which is not hard to do. To me, that little NSRA sticker in the windshield is just another form of an ego trip....
As you probably can tell, that's one of the reasons I'm not an NSRA fan. I'd probably do it if it were the Goodguys and not a clique...Fred P
