Car shows

Now since the shows are coming to a close for the year.
We talked about this before. And now some clubs will be talking about what to do on there next show. So maybe we could help them out.
1) what kind of activites would you like to see?
2) If they hand out goodie bags, what would you like to see in them?
3) Would you like driving event?
4) what kind of give aways would you like to see?
5) would you like for a club to have there shows at a different location every year?

If you have anymore post them. If we tell them what we like, they just might do some of them next year. Atleast we're giving them a head start for next year.

1) What kind of activites would you like to see? better Raffles Give-Aways worth accepting and not just old T-Shirts and stuff like that, Kids and adult games (Ex. valve cover races) one thing most events fail to do is separate into age classes or modification classes (mild homebuilt stuff or wild stuff), dances, poker runs, driving games like burnout contests muffler rap offs or rod jousting (I know this would make alot of events seeing how it's a major activity at one event I hit yearly)
2) If they hand out goodie bags, what would you like to see in them? Stuff worth getting like cleaners and detail stuff, not just pens pencils magnets and 50,000 event and product flyers
3) Would you like driving event? See above "Activities" Q and A....bring on the poker runs, burnout competitions, rod jousting, and muffler rap offs
4) What kind of give aways would you like to see? Big stuff...front suspensions, rears, rim & tire sets, brake kits, power steering kits, power window kits, A/C & heat systems, crate motors, trannys, a set of seats or two, bodies/frames (rolling chassis or complete ready for you to finish)
5) would you like for a club to have there shows at a different location every year? Cant see why they should need to do that. If it brings enough cars to at least break even, leave well enough alone.
6. Give-Away Cars? I think each big event wether its NSRA GG KOA KKOA or whatever should look more into this, and even most of the larger scale local events should. The club or org. should get together and build us a rod to try and win!

Later!

I like the reverse steering races or a blind folded race where one pushes the other backwards through a course..
I think poker runs are fun when you have enough time to stop and chat with folks along the way..I would also like for our club to have drags a couple times a year. I have two or three cars that need shut down since it is hard to shut the drivers down if you know what I mean. I don't drag on the street and I think they think my truck won't run and I want to show some that it runs better than they think. We need somewhere to vent a little you know?
Our club has couple special events a year at different locations. the best one the year is the Manatee Show in March this year and will be held at the Rock Crusher Canyon this year. They have a good bands and a really good buffet too. It is a dinner/ entertainment place with a nice camp grounds too. If anyone is interested in going e-mail me and I will fill you in....Or you can look up www.rockcrushercanyon.co

Our club does a charity show in August (always at the same place) and some of our events include a back-up contest, where the car has to be backed up to a pole by using mirrors only, without hitting the pole. Closest one wins. We have done a blind driver too, where you drive your car thru a course blindfolded (your passenger is the eyes). We find tho that we have a hard time getting anyone to do anything, except sit on their a**, cuz once they get there, they dont wanna do anything else. Dave

A popular driving game around here is the toilet paper pick up. It's similar to jousting only it's more involved, start at the starting line pull in to the first coned off parking space, spear a toilet paper roll with the pool stick they give you, back up, pull in on the left hand coned off parking area across from where you picked it up....do this 4 times and the fastest one wins a prize or money.
