wow! sounds like they included the reaction time of the "Little Old Lady From Pasadena" too!! I can't remember haveing any vehicle like that except a stock model A coupe.
Seems like that figure and the weight of the vehicle should be included with the "build list" of all the cars in Street Rodder Magazine. They usually give all of the specs like displacement, Horsepower, (with a grain or two of salt), tranny type, rear end ratio, and tire sizes but no vehicle weight most of the time. I often thought that was a sign of a trailer queen. Now if quarter mile times were given, one could work backwords with the computer programs. Same goes for the magazines brake conversion tech pages. 11 inch Baer brakes and wide meats should make for nose against the windshield stops but they're usually not included. I learned many years ago not to bother to point these things out to the Magazine (hot rod) 'cause you usually get a song and dance reply. Perhaps Car & Driver was best for including it......the times posted almost look like a higher speed was used but there you go again, missing info.
If one of the criteria used for performance is zero to 60 MPH times, it might be prudent then to use the same figures for decceleration times. The only one that really comes to mind was the accelerating to 100 MPH and back to zero for the Cobra! Sure it wasen't a street rod but besides the value, would ya mind having one to play with?
