Streetrodstuff Calender?

Here's a suggestion for the SRS staff. How about a Streetrod Stuff calender with pics of last years Rods of the month. Hey-might even sent a free one to each Rod of the Month winner!

Hey Lobuc - yeah, we actually have thought about this, but we just don't have high enough quality images to work from. To print a nice photograph, you really need to work from the negative of a real camera and the digital versions that we have would look terrible once enlarged.

Speaking of calendars, though - we *may* be offering some soon (just not of SRS cars, though)...

Make it an on-line calendar, where members could "hang notes" on the events they plan on attending.

Both the screen saver and the wallpaper sound like great ideas. So now the ball is back in Jason's court. hehehe

Yeah, I kinda like the screen saver idea... I'll have to look into that. We don't have any calender wallpaper, but don't forget, we have a couple nice desktop images over at:

Yep, the right cars, great bikes, and fine looking ladies. Three of my hobbies in one calendar!

Jason,
Actually, the problem isn't with the 'digital' pics. The problem is that anything which is displayed on a web site is in 72 dpi. Anyone that has a digital cam or a scanned image can email you a pic that is of 300 dpi and will print up just ducky.
Hope this helps,

Jim

If you have a honkin' digital camera this might work . . . (2 mega pixel or better). The problem comes in with doing the math -- a rough 8.5 x 7 picture (I'm guestimating here on size for a calendar pic) would be 2550x21000 is 5355000 pixels at 300 dpi. Digital cameras are nice for quickie photos and that, but I'll still be hanging onto my trusty 35mm for a while.

Good point, Jim. I'll be the first to admit that I don't have much experience with printing. Tracking down all of the past ROTM winners and trying to get them to send in a high-res image is probably still unrealistic right now, though.

Maybe we can take some high quality photos at some shows this summer when we run into some SRS members. We could use these for a future calender possibly.
