I'm starting to think about tires for my Hiboy 32
I'd like wide whites but the price is too high for my budget.
I've decided on a set of T/As for the rear P285 70R15s.
There a nice tall tire and they look good with the blackwall turned out.
Don't know about the front though I'd like to get a set that would match the T/A tread but without the white letters.
I seen a rod in Street Rod Builder that has Firestone F-560s on the front that match BFGs but the dealer here says no such tire exists.
Any ideas?
Any one have a better suggestion?

Hi Jeff, If you saw that street rod in street rod builder. They usally have it in street rodder mag. There they have a spec sheet on the car. Or you might see other cars that have the same.
hope this helps

Why don't you just use the T/A's and scrub off the white lettering? It's easy to do and they would match the rear.

GOODYEAR MAKES A TIRE CALLED THE TOURING T/A THAT IS A TRUE BLACKWALL TIRE WITH NO WHITE OR EVEN RAISED LETTERS,DON'T KNOW FOR SURE WHICH SIZES THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN BUT YOUR DEALER SHOULD KNOW.I THINK THE RAISED WHITE LETTERS LOOK "TACKY" EVEN IF YOU SCRUB THE WHITE OFF!JUST MY OPINION,HOPE IT HELPS!!

No problem, I've looked at the touring T/A and I may use those for front.
I want the tall T/As for the rear and they're only available in the Radial T/A.
The touring has basically the same tread patern so they'll match up without having the white letters.
Didn't know you could scrub off the white letters I thought the sidewall was white all the way to the belts.
The GM dealer I work at gets there tires for 50% less than retail through the goodwrench program.
Thats why I'm looking at the T/As at 81 dollars Canadian you can't go wrong.
Thanks for everyones input

I'am interested in the Early 40s style
look !
Jeff, I'm messing with a '32 hiboy also. This past summer when I was at Louisville and Columbus I was checking out tires to see what looked right and if you like tall sidewalls, like I do, you might want to take a look at the P185/70R14 for the fronts. The P165/70R14's look to narrow in my eyes. Good luck.

Thanks for the offer Wheels but the shipping up here to Northern Canada would kill me.
I like the look of WWs but i'm not fussy as far as tires go.
This one is a driver so I need good ones.
Thanks for the tip Rat Rod Mac I'm with you on that one.
I'll keep digging and I'll find something eventually

I recently ran into the same problem of trying to match a front and rear BFG tires on a 32 roadster. If you go to the BFG website, they will tell you that they haven't made tires since 1986 when they sold the tire division to Michelin. T/A's or comp T/A's sizes for the front of roadsters are to big or wide. I think this is because almost all BFG tires are made for domistic cars. If you want a matched set, try Michelins.
Good Luck.....truckmaster

Jeff Check out coker tire. They have a 145 r15 kleber tire. The tread is not a good match but the price is good. (35.00 ea)They are a black wall and are thin and nice looking. I have a set on my 32 vicky hiboy with the 285 70 r15 T/As. I am very happy with this setup. WWW.cokertire.com

I agree with wrenchman. I run 145x15's(frt) and 285-70x15's rear on my hiboy. I don't like the fat tire look on the front of a hiboy. They were hard to find for a while and the price was high. Since Coker has started selling them there are more of them available and the price is lower.
