I'm curious what the price of gasoline is in other parts of the country - here in southern New Hampshire regular grade is running $1.35 to $1.55 with an average of $1.45 - we are being ripped of for home heating oil to the tune of $1.40 to $1.50

Hey Joe, Down here in London Ont Canada, regular (87 octane)fuel runs around $0.75 Canadian per liter (has been as high $0.85). Converted to US dollars and gallons that works out to approximately $3.37 Canadian / $2.02US per gallon. You want to pay that???

Rochie,
Looks like you used a calculation for imperial gallons, you'll over fill Joes tank.
There's only 3.8 litres in a US gallon to one us gallon of gas is $2.85 CDN in London a 65 cent Canadian dollar makes it $1.85 US per US gallon
Imperial Gallons, US Gallons Bah! at least there is only one litre
BTW Don't know how much gas is here, only drove to work once this month, haven't bought gas since Christmas. Guys here at work say it's around 66 to 68 cents per litre

It was $1.59/gal this morning and its $1.44 tonight....must be Wednesday. There has been a definite pattern here. On Thursday night it will go back up again. It happens almost every week.

Been $1.47/1.48 at WESCO stations in Muskegon, MI for the last 3 weeks or so. We usually see that same pattern up here but I think the WESCO pricing guy has been in Florida using the yacht upon which I have been making payments. The few other stations have been moving around between 1.47 and 1.57 in the same period. Personnally it's not so much what it is but the predatory practices. I mean it is really amazing how quickly a hang nail on an oil well tender in arabia runs the price up here. Either that or the supply system really is just in time - how else do those trucks get there with that new gas just as the cheaper stuff runs out??? Chuck

Just filled the Jimmy up tonight at the rate of $1.30/gal for 87 oct. Three months ago we were totaly bent out of shape at a price like that, now we think it's a good deal and rush out to fill up before the price goes up Thur. A.M. Guess the big oil company acomplished what they set out to do. We are also paying $9.0611/MCF delivered for natural gas. Pretty much ruled out the garage heater for most of the winter. The 31 "A" Man

I paid $1.43 a gallon for regular this week. I'm in Long Beach California.
It's a $1.35 in a few stations south of me but too far away to make a special trip for gas, I'd burn up the savings just getting there and back.

we are paying $1.619 for 87 oct., $1.609 for 89 oct.(ethonol blend), $1.229 for #2 heating oil and $1.359 for #1 heating oil, propane is at $1.359. this is at the service station that i work at. other cities around the area are within a few cents, higher or lower than that. we were 9 cents lower on gasoline about 3 weeks ago.

According to the responses I have seen from this survey, the price of fuel here in charlotte is about normal. that is $1.29.9 to $1.45.9. This is really a shame since I can't buy pump gas with enough octane to power my lawn tractor. Let alone a large husky rat.

$1.40 to $1.50 a gallon down south along Mississippi and Louisiana coast. I work for one of the majors offshore but higher prices at the pump don't put any more money in my pocket for sure.
Look at the news everyday somewhere there is a contrversy over domestic drilling, whether it be in offshore California, Florida, or wherever.Of course to the Big Oil shareholders they can laugh all the way to the bank. Also you gotta consider how much of your fuel price is state tax. I bought gas in Arkansas about .35 cents a gallon cheaper than at home. You know the real kicker is as oil goes up you see gas at the pump go up within 2 days, if oil goes down the pump price sticks about 2 to 3 months.

Bird,
I am in Jonesboro, AR, about an hour away from you. Bring your ride to our car show 14 April. Check out the flyer at our club site http://www.geocities.com/~neasra/ . Last year a blue 57 Chevy from Poplar Bluff was best in show.
Regular gas is about $1.35 a gallon here. Usually a few cents cheaper in West Memphis. Higher out side of town. I use a Shell card. Local Shell station has a competitive price and I get a 5% discount on the bill. WalMart has a gas station here. They take a couple of cents off if you use a WalMart pre-paid or gift card.
The nine tenths dates back to the days of nickle a gallon gas. Psychological. Like 99 cent burgers and tool sets that cost $199. Seems cheaper than a buck or $200. It ain't really but folks go for it.

Here in South Florida, regular runs from about$1.45 to $1.68 per gallon. I see that diesel is even higher than 93 octane. What a ripoff! Diesel is much cheaper to refine than even regular grade gasoline. I think the power shortage you folks in California are suffering thru is gonna be like the gas shortages of the 70's. As soon as the prices are high enough, you will have more electricity than you can use.

I paid $1.37 this morning for regular gasoline. Thats $1.36 9/10 a gallon in Mesa AZ. Usually raises a dime per gallon per grade level. ( $1.37, $1.47, $1.57 a gallon)
But I have seen some pricing like $1.38 regular, $1.55 mid grade, then $1.65 for prem.
Diesel is running $1.70 gallon.
Whats the deal with 9/10th of a penny???? Where did that start??
My brother has pumped fuel from ElPaso TX to AZ for over 30 years. I could tell you stories about quality, pricing and quanity that would mess your pants.
AZ has the reformulated fuels in the larger counties for air pollution.
Heating oil is not used in the area I live. It's electric heat & water heater. Our electric bill is around $100.00 a month for entire house at this time of year.
"Regular" is @ $1.489. Raise it a dime for the next two grades. We're in Nor-Cal (Redding).
We're ticked at PG&E, along with Gov. Gray Davis. For about the last four years our combined gas and electric has averaged $156/mo.. Two months ago it ws raised to $190. This month they notified us that starting next mo. it goes up to $258.That's a 66% increase, so far. -------- and this is just the start of the bailout.
