You may want to try Youngstown Hard Chrome (330-758-9721) in Youngstown, OH, talk to Dan McCarthy or Dan Neal, tell 'em Steve Sharp from CRC referred you - with that endorsement they'll either help you or shoot you.

Really, they're good people, are in the industrial chroming business, know their stuff. If they can't help they will know who can.

Hi Red, The chromer I use in the Metro Detroit area is
B & L Plating
21353 Edom
Warren, MI 48089
810 778 9300
810 773 9366 fax

They are the last place in the metro area that still does the 3 steps of copper process before the nickel. They've been in business for over 30 years and its still family ownd and operated. Owner's name is Gino, son's name is Victor. You can ask for either and tell them Denise Sheldon sent you. I'll tell you how nice they are to work with, I had taken both my bumpers off and had the bumper bolts welded and the heads ground off and filled in. I then took the bumpers to B & L to have chromed while my rod was being painted this summer. I needed them back in 2 weeks cuz I was taking my rod to Louisville for the nats seemingly with a brand new paint job and smooth bumpers. Gino called me on time and told me my bumpers were ready. That same night lightening hit the body shop that my rod was in and burned to the ground. When I went to pick up my bumpers a couple of weeks later (Had to get over the shock first, I was in no condition to talk to anyone), Gino had heard thru the grape vine about my rod burning and would not take any money from me. He put my beautiful, newly chromed, smooth as a baby's butt, bumpers in my van, closed the door, and no matter what I did, would not take the cash in my hand. Now some people might say this isn't good business but if you stop and think about it for a minute, how much good will did this just create for him. All of my buddies who didn't know about him before, sure know about him now. Before, when someone asked about a chrome shop I'd mention his name and give out his number, now I'm singing his praises from the rooftop!! The first thing I'll do when I drive my new rod home will be to bolt those bumpers on and drive across town to show Gino. Whichever shop you choose just make sure they do all the processing steps. If you have any questions regarding chroming don't hesitate to call and ask Gino. Good Luck

you might want to look into http://www.caswellplating.com
They are in Palmyra, NY and provide the do-it-yourselfer the kits/goodies/supplies to do
plating of ALL kinds.
I own one of their kits and love it. I've done a lot of my own polishing and plating and reccommend them highly.
Hope this helps,
Jim
