SCR*W the cheep as* plastic ones that are at the car shows. Just the satisfaction of hopping behind the wheel of something you built yourself is enough for me. Side note, went to a cruise nite a couple of nite ago. Had a great time. The highlite of the nite to me, was the look on 2 small kids faces when I let them sit in my coupe. These boys were about 7 or 8 years old. Didn't need an interior lite, their faces lit up the interior like a 100,000 candlepower driving light! Has the seed of 2 future streetrodders been planted? Only time will tell. I urge you all out there, share your streetrod with youngsters, it'll double you enjoyment of your car.

ZZFORD......IT MUST BE NICE TO GO TO A CRUIZ-IN, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER TIME.
ARE YOU TRYING TO "RUB IT IN" TO THE FOLKS LIVING IN THE NORTH COUNTRY ???? I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER TO DO THE SAME. ONE OF THESE DAYS, I AM GOING TO "PULL THE PIN" AND QUIT MY JOB AND MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. I WILL START GOING SOUTH WITH A SNOW SHOVEL ON MY SHOULDER, WHEN SOMEONE WALKS UP TO ME AND SAYS "MR. WHAT'S THAT YOUR CARRYING ?"...........THATS WHERE I WILL SETTLE !!!
FOR ALL THE NEW FOLKS JOINING THIS SITE, IT "IS" ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AND THERE ARE A BUNCH OF VERY NICE FOLKS ON THIS SITE. JUST SPEAK OUT AND YOU MAY BE SUPRIZED AND THE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION AND HELP THAT YOU CAN GET RIGHT HERE.

TO ZZFORD....YEAH FRED, I CAN RELATE TO THAT............IT GOT ALL THE WAY TO 68 ONCE LAST AUGUST ??? I KNOW, YOU GOT ALIGATORS !!!! I EXPECIALLY LIKED THE "LOVE BUGS". ONE GOOD THING WE HAVE UP HERE, TWO SEASONS, THE BUILDING SEASON (WHICH WE ARE IN NOW) AND THE CRUIZIN' SEASON..........IT' COMMING (I HOPE). I WOULD HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME WORKING IN THE GARAGE WHEN IT'S 90 DEGREES WITH 99.9 PERCENT HUMIDITY.
YOU KNOW, A PRO-STREET ROD DOESN'T GO TOO WELL IN THE SNOW !!! HONEST !

You know Rich, that really is a truth about living in the season-less South. With no seasons, you do get a lot more drive time in. I put my coupe on the road Thanksgiving weekend. Although it looks complete, there still is a number of things needed to wrap the project up (as if they are ever really done). It is nigh impossible to park it long enough to so much as check the tires let alone paint the hood. Not being forced by the weather to park it, the stuff isn't getting done. I know that I will get around to the miriad of unfinished business, but it would kinda be nice to be pushed along by old man winter.

Hey Fred,I bet there are a few of us from Siberia,OOOOPS!, I mean the Midwest,It just looks and feels the same, that would swap you residances for about three months. This would give you a chance to complete your to-do list on your car and give us a chance to drive ours for the same.Sounds like a great deal to me,I'll even supply the snow shovel if you throw in the alligator repellant!!!Have a "Great New Year"!!

Hey, 40! I was in Wisconsin in October, got out of there just before it got real cold. Whew! Wisconsin in winter is no place for a Southern boy!!! Got up this morning and there was frost on the grass, even that's too close to snow for me!

Trophies

NOT TO WORRY FRED, I HAVE BEEN FITTING AND INSTALLING THE INSIDE WINDOW MOULDING IN MY COUPE FOR THE PAST 2 WINTERS (THIS WILL BE THE THIRD). I BELIEVE I AM THE WORLD GREATEST PROCRASTINATOR. GOING INTO THE GARAGE IN THE WINTER, WITH THE HEAT ON AND THE RADIO TURNED UP IS GREAT, BUT ONE MUST DO MORE THAT JUST SIT AND ADMIRE ONES CAR.
I ENJOYED JOKING WITH YOU ABOUT THE WEATHER AND THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I DON'T LIKE YOU..........ANYBODY THAT DRIVES A '33 FORD COUPE CAN'T BE ALL BAD, EVEN IF YOU DO LIVE IN A WARM CLIMATE. YOU DO HAVE A GREAT TASTE IN A STREET ROD. ...AND THE COLOR CHOISE IS ALSO VERY GOOD. I WOULD SUGGEST SOME FLAMES TO MAKE IT PERFECT.

I AGREE. "THUMBS UP" FROM THE PEOPLE YOU PASS ON THE ROAD IS ONE OF THE BEST "TROPHYS" ONE CAN RECIEVE ! I HAVE HAD PEOPLE ALMOST FALL OUT OF THERE CARS WAVING AND HONKING JUST TO GIVE A "THUMBS UP"............ESPECIALY THE LITTLE KIDS IN THE CAR ALSO SHOWING THUMBS UP.............COOL I GUESS I WILL NEVER GROW UP !

Dang Girl! would ya settle for 4 outta 5? :)

While cruzin through Ruidoso NM in oct i heard some one yelling and looked to my left and there was a late model cadillac running along beside me with an elderly (about 70) lady with her head stuck out the back window (and it was about 30deg out side minus the 20 mph cruzin chill factor) and she shouted "I think that car would look real pretty if you would paint it YELLOW" Ill never forget that! My reply was "ya know-i may just do that!"

Well, I'm 6', over 220lbs, 43 years old, and wouldn't have any problem sitting on the passenger side of your rod! My wife might have a problem with it, though!

My best reward is when all the guys at all the shows turn their heads to see my wife drive her 69 Camaro converible (and her lumpy-bumpy cam and four speed) in and hoot and holler and not knowing that she's with me (right behind her in my 57)!! She gets more guys to look under her hood than mine....did I say that right? Hmmmm......now that I think about that.....let me rephrase that...
