hi i have a 93 chevy s-10 equipped with a measly 2.8L. my original plan was to find a 4.3L and put in with minor modifications. but lately while flipping through my summit mag i started to compare the price of 4.3 and 350 performance parts to find out that 4.3L is harder to come by and cost more than for a 350. so i was wondering if anyone has put a 350 in a s-10 and can give me some pointers or some3 ideas. i was looking at past car shows and most s-10's with a 350 and headers had the headers weaved around the frame. i have only seen 1 clean looking engine compartment and that had a straight back manifold. but i really want headers so please let me know on your ideas, findings from personnal doings, or hearing of others doing. thank you steven

Hi Steven,
The 4.3 is a tight fit in a S-10 ,and miserable to work on. The V-8 would be impossable to work on, but would go like a scalded dog. I have seen a book and a kit to do this engine swap, I don't remember where but i'll look around also. Talk to you soon. Regards,HonestFrank

I installed a 305 in a s-10 and i got all my info from www.jagsthatrun. They have manuals on several v-8 swaps inclucing putting chevy v-8's in jaguars, volvos, nissan z-cars, s-10's, and Astro vans. The s-10 swap when done by their instructions used stock cast iron exhaust manifolds and requires some firewall messaging but its a clean setup when finished.

Steven, I had a s10 blazer with a 350, made my own motor mounts, but the rest was from a kit. except the headers and they were Sandersons. All i had to do was bend one of the tubes inboard about a 1/2 inch to clear the steering joint.
