Did anyone go to the Hot rod nationals this past weekend? I did, had a great time. I bought the 36 chevy sedan at the swap meet, the one that was painted yellow. I can't wait to get started on it. I also think I saw Dr.Chop there with one of his creations.... any response. I haven't seen you guys ( and Gals) discuss it on the board.

I was there and had a great time. There were so many people and things to do and see that it was hard to even find people I knew. I did see Steve Jack and his dad.
Steve's dad's 55 Chevy is in there and so is DrChop's ex-sedan....its on its way to becoming a truck I think. I should warn you tho, there are a couple of pictures of the Bodacious Backup Babe in there. That's what she calls herself. She's the wife of one of the drivers and runs out and directs the car back into the staging area after it does its burn-out. Enough about that...I just had to warn you.
Congratulations on your new purchase..I saw it but didn't check it out close. I bought a project there last year so I went thru the swap area trying to exercise self discipline and not spend any money. I've got plenty of parts, just not enough time. I did get another car down there anyway tho. I was over in the campground across from the track visiting some friends and when I mentioned that I was building a 31 Chevy sedan, he asked if I wanted another one for $600. A guy owed him $600 and gave him the car as payment. Its rust free and all the parts are there except the running gear. Mine was missing a few things like good headlights and interior pieces. From the way he talked it's in better shape than the one I'm building. I sure don't need another car but I just can't pass it up. I think its a disease. I've got to go pick it up in Missouri.

I was there too. What a show. It was information overload with the swap meet, drag races, vendors, rods etc. Had a great time.
I drove my coupe all night Thursday night to get there Friday morning. A ten hour drive. The coupe ran flawlessly too..........there and back. I found the Indy Motor Speedway lap a little disappointing. Too slow, too many rules and regs.
In my hotel parking lot, I counted 56 trailers! My 14 year old daughter said "after guys get tired of car shows, I think they will have trailer shows to see who has the best one". Out of of the mouths of babes!

Amen to your daughter's comment about trailers. One Ford that turns up at the local shows has a sign hanging from the open hood..."If you see this car on a trailer, call the police, because it's been stolen."

We were there. It is my favorite run all year. We live close enough that we can stay at home, but it takes us an hour to get to IRP. There is so much to see and do, I didn't to see everything like I wanted. We parked our hiboy in the Homebuilt Heaven on Sat. When I came back to it late Sat. afternoon there was a note in it that we had been picked for the "One Fine Deuce" award. So it was a real good weekend for us. I think this was the first time that it didn't rain sometime during the weekend.

Hey gang.....I was there too. That's my old stompin ground to say the least. As George said.....my dad had the 55 there just around the corner from the main grandstand.
We had a great time and saw a few guys/gals from several differing forums. Weather was great and the people that came were great.
Congratulations on the Deuce pic.....great cars to say the least!
