Hemi water pump

I have a 53 Desoto that has a bored out 276c.i. hemi with a four bbl.
I just blew the water pump and I am told that these pumps have been rebuilt so often that the shafts aren't really true and have a tendancy to leak. I think I might have scored a couple of pumps, used but servicable...I also heard a rumor about an adaptor that will enable me to utilize a chevy water pump on the hemi...does anybody out there know about this??..if so let me know where I can get one or find a place that can amplify on this subject.

Do Wap, A guy gave me a whole stack of Street Rodder magazines about a month ago and I've been going through them. The January thru November 1996 issues have an ongoing article on the Hemi. I gave a friend of mine these issues because he's going to build one. But there is mention of using a Chevy water pump. In the article they are going to mount a blower and I think they use the chevy for clearance but it should work regardless. Anyway, anybody interested in Hemi's should try and get ahold of these issues. They are full of facts and figures. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about the Desoto hemi. I know the Chrysler hemi has a ton of options as far as adapting other stuff to it. The Dodge Red Ram, Desoto, and Chrysler Hemi are NOT interchangable
