Thanks for the nfo.....I plumbed the car with all 3/16....went to bleed them and found that my m/C won't pump any fluid out of the front (large reservoir) which goes to the disc brakes in the front. This M/c came with a project car.....early GM I think. Since I now have to replace it with a new one.....any suggestions on what to get? Bore size? Make , modle, year?? I would like to pick something up at local parts store, but don't know what to buy.

Vic, just went through the problems with my 36 ford
Is it under the floor ? if it is you will need
a proportioning valve and 2 residual check valves
front will be 2 lb and rear is 10 lb.
If it is on the firewall then you will just need a proportioning valve. As far as the m/c goes a 1 inch
bore is sufficent

I'am interested in the Early 40s style

You need a Master Cyl. (1" bore) from early Mustang, I'll give you the year tomarrow. If you use a master cyl. from a car with Disc/Drum brakes, you don't need the apportion Valve (light switch ). If your master cyl is above your bleeders on your wheels you don't need Check Valves. When you install your Master cyl. make sure you bench bleed it,install in and open all 4 of your bleeders, push your pedal down 1" to get gravity working ( you may have to push your pedal down 2 or 3 times ,slowly and not more the 1" It may take a couple of hours. Make sure your Master Cyl. stays full once the fluid comes out the bleeders your done. Have fun and i'll talk to you tomarrow nite. Regards,HonestFrank

Thanks frank, I already plumbed the system with 2 lb, 10 lb, proportioning vave and stop light swithch. Just need to get new M/C. M/C is located under the floor. Are they all the same bolt pattern? My bracket is already in place & has 2 mounting holes for the M/C.
Thanks
Vic

The Master Cyl. That i like to use is the 1976 Mustang, power brake, Disc / Drum. You can use it with or with out Booster. If you use 11" GM disc in front you don't need a power booster. This master cyl. is 1" or 1 1/8" bore and its outside body is much smaller then the GM Master cyl.
Hope this Helps, HonestFrank
