air conditioning

I'm just finishing up my 1930 2 dr sedan and I have the compressor mounted and the condenser mounted now I need the rest of the kit where can I get the best price on a compaq generation ll heat/air unit with all the hoses and switches and instructions......HELP......

I installed my AC before the "generation II" became available, but I used a matched kit from Vintage Air. I used their best condensor and 134a freon. It works great. I've heard/talked to others who have pieced together systems with less than good results.

I also heeded the advice to crimp the fittings on the lined hoses. It seems as if there is a fine line between "not tight enough" and "too tight" when using clamps. there is danger of cutting through the liner if tightend too much.

The best6 price I found on the Gen II Compact without defrost was $309 at Yearwood Speed in El Paso
