Here in Northern Alberta on the edge of civilization I'd have to say none.
Theres a 40 Ford thats done and lots of musclecars but no Rods that I know of and for sure NO open wheeled roadsters!
By the way we have a population of 20 thousand
Sad huh

I'd say between my house and Toronto (30 miles) there are at least 20 (that I know of!) rods being built. There are a number of rod shops in the metropolitan area........do they count too? If so, the number skyrockets.

Jeff,
There may not be many rods, other than yours, under constuction near you, but there is a bright side.
My point of view is that there will be more roadsters on the road in this province next year than last, and thats a good thing!
There's just not enough rodders livin' life to the fullest "out in the open"!

Jeff,
Don't let jims misguided "Democrat" comment foil you.
They don't have anything to do with this province, we can still rule it.

I'm up here in the snowy north (Montana). We are planning our annual garage tour with the longest drive between garages about 15 minutes. Just sitting around drinking a couple of adult beverages we came up with 13 garages to tour with new cars going together.
btw: One of the guys here just returned from the Grand National Roadster Show. He built one of Allaways (sp) Speedstar coupes in his garage (not a pro, he pumps septic tanks for a living). Anyway, he won his class which had at least one other Speedstar in it. Shows you don't have to have a pro build your car for you to win.

WOW,what a neat idea the garage tour is,i think ill get with the local rodders and see if they are interested in something like that around here,i always pick up valuable info when i visit another rod in progress.we use to have a neat hot rod club locally, but everyone decided to become lone wolfs, anyway that is another story...

I hate to rub it in, but here in Manteca, Calif..the whole town is only about four or five miles square, but the population is aroun 54, 000...Just from driving around on Saturdays and checking out open garages, I would estimate 75-100 cars in varying stages of rebuild or construction.
Our car club started with 7 cars three years ago..went to 110 members within three months..Adjoining towns, about 15 miles away in either direction have numerous clubs and cars..we're virtually over-run with hot rods both winter and summer....it's a struggle, but someone has to endure it..might as well be me...
