I AM INSTALLING THE ENGINE IN MY 37 SEDAN.BUILT A BRACKET TO LOWER THE RADIATOR 3" AND A STAINLESS COVER TO CLEAN UP THE TOP OF THE GRILL AREA.MY PROBLEM IS ALL OF THE BRACKETS I'VE TRIED MOUNT THE AC COMPRESSOR AND THE ALTERNATOR TO HIGH,THEY RUN INTO THE UPPER PET-COCK AND THE OVERFLOW TUBE FOR THE RADIATOR.I CAN'T LOWER THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE OF MY POWER STEERING PUMP.I CAN FABRICATE SOME BRACKETS BUT AM HOPING SOMEONE HAS ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE AND HAS A QUICKER/EASIER SOLUTION.I AM USING A GRIFFIN RADIATOR ON THIS PROJECT AND THE ENGINE IS A GM CRATE SMALL BLOCK.ANY AND ALL ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED,THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Just wondering if you couln't replace the petcock with a pipe plug and bend the overflow tube out of the way instead of trying to move the accessories?

I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT,PLUGGING THE PETCOCK OFF IS NO PROBLEM,BUT THE OVERFLOW TUBE RUNS OUT OF THE FILL NECK,THRU THE TOP TANK,AND THEN OUT THE BOTTOM.HAVE NO IDEA THE REASONING BEHIND THAT DESIGN BUT CAN'T RELOCATE IT.HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT USING LOW MOUNT BRACKETS FOR BOTH THE ALTERNATOR AND COMPRESSOR BUT WOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP THE POWER STEERING.I'M NOT READY TO SURRENDER JUST YET!!!THANKS!

Hi Daryle, I seen this done on a car before. But didn't understand why. But maybe it was the same reason what your going thru. They put the alt and a/c on the same side. The alt was mounted low and the a/c was mounted high.
Like i said didn't understand the reason behind that. But maybe he ahd the same problem you did.

Try Bills Hot Rods in Covina, Ca. (818) 332-1915. He makes some real clean brackets and the price isn't bad. High/low & left/right. Chrome or raw. I really liked his alt & pump units. Hope this helps

I'm glad you sloved your problem. If any one else has trouble. I am a dealer for Bill's Hot Rods, I would be happy to supply measurements. I was wondering what power steering bracket you were useing? Bill's Power steering bracket lets you move your pump down to give clearence for the Alt. As far as unbalanced as long as everything is nice and neat, and it works i think you should be proud your work.HonestFrank
