I was just watching Hot Rod TV today and saw an advertisement for a Street Rod University or College (don't remember which it was). Apparently you learn to build a chassis, chop tops, paint, etc., etc. Has anyone looked this training or attended any classes? If yes, what was your impression. The subtle message here is that they (people that started the college) believe the street rod industry will continue to grow and offer job opportunities for years to come.

WE were there with the americruise last fall. This looked like a very first class operation. They are very hospitable and knowledgeable. A Cruiser from Hawaii had some problems with his suspension and they put his car on the hoist fixed it got him on the road and never charged him a penny, plus they furnished us with a tour and lunch . All at not one red penny . Not only that I got my picture taken with Joe Elmore. What more can a girl ask for ? Of course he was interested in my 57 T Bird.

Dick, it was Wyoming tech. They have the rod building program. The program is an elective after some pre-requistes have been completed i.e., mechanical, electrical/electronics. It's been around for about 7 or 8 years. Good program, apparently, good instructional staff. I think they are right about growth. If you recall street rod shows about 10 years ago, 7-800 cars was a big show, Now 2,500 is not uncommen and the big shows are twice that. How big was Super Chevy (Norwalk)or Goodguys (Columbus) this year. I know Frankenmuth was 2200 and a small show in my area, Bothwell was 2100. It will change, but I think it will continue to grow.

Dick, It is Wy tech (Wyoming tech) My neighbor is going there right now. He says it's top notch. If you don't learn anything it's your own fault.
I'd love to take a tour of the place.

Great idea!! Super way to get young people interested in car building and fabrication. Go on to race cars, street rods, trailors, I think it's great. Don't see to many young people interested in this neck of the woods. HonestFrank
