Good day all, Are you up to a challenge? I'm building a 34 Chevy coupe with small block chevy. The engine is an old 327 with no bolt holes in the front of the heads. Also, I'm using an old Offenhauser cross-ram with the single 4 barrel top. I need a mount for my A/C compressor (Sanden), preferably for the passenger side. I've looked at several, but none that will work. The front passenger side intake manifold bolts are not usable as they are obstructed by the cross-ram. About the only place I have to use is the exhaust manifold bolts and the water pump bolts. I considered changing heads to some with mounting holes, but the intake extends over 2 inches forward of the front of the head and none of the brackets I've looked at mount the compressor high enough to clear the manifold.
Anyone ever mount a compressor on an engine with this manifold?

Hi I am a dealer for Bill's Hot Rods Brackets. We have brackets for early chevy heads that don't have the mounting holes. The brackets mount to a plate that mounts to the water pump. I'll get you a picture of it. You say the manifold hangs over 2" I'll have to do some measuring and let you know. HonestFrank

Hey Car Nut, Its me again i'm also building (should say) collecting parts to build a '34 Chevy Master 5 window coupe. I'm going to put it on a S-10 frame. I have an all steel car, Still need door garnish moldings. Do you know of a fiberglass suppyier for parts for these cars? I can't find Old Chicago on the web. Thanks,HonestFrank

Hi Frank,
Good luck find garnish moldings. It took me 2 years to find mine, and they are rough. I bought them from a guy who bought new fiberglass doors that had the inner door panel and garnish moldings included as one piece. I don't know where he got them; I've never seen fiberglass doors for sale or even a stock height coupe body.
Oops, just noticed you said Master. Mine's a Standard, probably different. You may have to get some moldings from an old 4 door sedan and piece them together for your coupe.

Hi Car_Nut, I would gladly buy Garnish moldings from a 4 door master. I have been told the doors are the same as the 5 window Master coupe. "VEO DINDICE" Southern civil war term means "GOD WILL VINDICATE" I use this as my signature because I can't fly the Stars & Bars on line. HonestFrank

Old Chicago has a web page. But it's not up and running. Hasn't been for over a year. and they don't answer there e-mail either. Was wanting to order one of there bodies and frame. A couple of street rod shops said they sold there molds, and there workmanship went down hill.
You might try Downs bodies for some parts. They have a web page. but can't remember what it is right off hand.

Thank Yoy Cruzer. I'll hunt for Downs. I only asked about Old Chicago because someone said they made chevy "glass" parts, thought they may make Garnish Moldings? I would gladly buy Master 4 door moldings i think they may be the same as 5 window doors? Regards, Frank

Hi Frank, found Downs bodies web page.. and here are some others that deal with 34 chevy. www.downsmfg.com and www.outlawrods.com and www.rbsauto.com
If your going to cover them with the same stuff as your interior. you could make your own.
