If you decide to go with Painless, we (SRS) should be able to get the kit for you - well beat Summit's price by $5. Send an email to solutions@streetrodstuff.com if you decide to go that route. We can set you up for an online custom order.
Just a reminder to everyone out there that we can get almost any part you need, we just don't put them all on the site. You might want to check with us before searching all around town for the parts you need.

Yes, it's hard to avoid the shipping costs. We always try to make shipping as fair as possible. We rarely make any money on shipping, and sometimes we lose. If you can get the wiring kit for him for less money, then I'd definitely recommend he get it from you. It's not our goal to try to rip people off...quite the opposite. There's enough of that going on in the world.
Thanks for letting us know that the fact we offer this service is less than obvious. We have an ad for it in the Products section, but I guess we'll try to make it more well known.

I dont sell the painless kits because i have to sell them for more than summit and then charge for shipping, so i just send the customer to summit or some one that is a big dealer.

I also received their video tape in the mail this morning and hope to watch it tonight. they said I may not have to reprogram the ecm if my tire/ gear set up is close to the origional????

I have purchased a LT-1 Motor with the 4L60E tranny out of a 1995 Corvette. I am interested to hear more. I talked with Fuel Injection Specialties in San Antonio, TX and they do a harness modification for $325, and the following:
Program Computer:
Base Calibration
Pass Vats
Set Gear Ratio
Set tire size
raise speed limit to 255
raise rev limit to 6400RPM
perf calibration
firm shifts
$250.00
Let me know what these other folks offer.
Thanks Russell

I also purchased a LT1 from a '93 Z28 with a T56 trans.
I have the stock harness and computer, but plan to eliminate the EGR and Shift Gate lockout (yes they want to tell you when to shift a manual trans for gas mileage).
I am very interested in how yours works out. I will be doing wiring this summer and I would love to hear your details.
Please send me an e-mail when you get the chance with any info you think will help me out.
