'39 FORD REAR LEAF SPRINGS

I would like to know what type of vehicle that I can pull a set of rear leaf springs off of to bolt an 8" maverick rear end to my 1939 ford coupe chassis. The length of the springs that I came up with was at around 48"s. Is this correct? Luckily I found all the front end suspension in the same junk yard as the rear end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to Street rod stuff for this site. Larry

I've seen a few posts where they talk of using Chrysler mini van rear leaf springs. Street Rodder a few years back had an article wher they used rear springs off a Mazda pick-up I believe. You had to torch the front spring hanger off the donor truck though. I used Chassis Eng. front and rear spring hangers and shackel kit but went to the local spring shop, told them what the car weighed ( 46 Ford ) and what I wanted for spring length ( I needed 24" from spring perch locating pin to both front and rear spring eye ) and they set me up with a new set of springs $150.
Hope this helps.

I have heard that the leaf springs in the Chassis Engineering Kit are from the front end of a Mid 80's 4x4 Dodge P/U. Not sure of the year but the other part is accurate--measure one at the salvage yard and see. I would use the hangers from Chassis Engineering and boneyard the rest.
