Ol Bib's birthday is 14 April. I my honor (well, may be not), the North East Arkansas Street Rod Association is hosting a car show and swap meet. See the flyer at our web site http://www.geocities.com/~neasra . We are about an hour and a half from Memphis, TN, The same from Poplar Ridge, MO, and two hours from Little Rock, AR. This is a good, friendly car show. Live entertainment, lots os classes and trophies, and live entertainment too. There will be a poker run the evening of the 13th for those folks that come early and stay the night. Join us for the fun.

We had a great show! In addition to member cars, which were not judged, we had 125 entries. 50 more than last year. Cars came from Eastern Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Southern Missouri. Two cars came over from Fort Smith (260 miles) and two cars came down from Joplin (300 miles). The Litttle Rock area was also well represented. In most cases, folks told us they heard about the show from postings on sites like this and from our web page. Thanks Streetrod Stuff for making the form available to the rodding community!

I was on the parking committee. It was hectic. Last year we had 75 cars. This year we put the show on at a pavilion in our city's Forrest Park. There are 99 striped parking spaces in the adjacent parking lot. In addition to the competing cars we had two feature cars with enclosed trailers and another 50 or so member cars and even more spectators. We had cars parked everywhere. I got about 15 minutes to walk around. One of the members took pictures and they will be posted on our web page in a month or so. Not only did we have more cars, the overall level of detail and workmanship was way up. The swap meet was also a success. Next year we are considering the fair grounds. More space and better accesss for spectators. Also covered areas for swap meet vendors.
