On rebuilding my Heads for a 350 Chevy. First time I done this. I noticed that 2 of the Valves stems are (3/8= .375) and the rest are .340 of the whole engine.
Thinking of Reaming them all to .375 with new valves. PUZZLES Me why the diffrence in size?

if the two guides that are larger are exhaust valves. it sounds like somebody rebuilt these heads before, and instead of replacing the guides that were bad they reamed them out to the 3/8's stem size which are in truck engines.

i would have bronze guides installed for the stock size valves(.340)along with new valves.just dont forget to have HARDENED EXHAUST VALVE SEATS installed in your heads,it will save you a lot of problems in the future..good luck
