STUPID QUESTION

Today I finally eliminated my external regulator and went to the one wire alternator. Cut loose all the wires except the big charging wire.
SO, why did my MECHANICAL temperature gauge stop working today?
Coincedence?
I don't think a mechanical gauge needs power except for the light does it?

Sounds like bad Karma...or evil mojo. But my best guess would be coincedence.

Just coincedence for sure. If its a mechanical gauge then the light would be the only power to that gauge. Although I have had some strange experiences with "Classic" gauges and "VDO" gauges before where they have seem to quit functioning for no apparent reason.
