Hi there Dave, Great to see ya here! Instead of the usual welcome to this site that we all usually give ya, I'm going to let the guys here in on a little secret about you. Dave is one of the nicest, kindest, down to earth, ( R U blushing yet?) streetrodders that I've run into in a long time. Let me tell ya all alittle bed time story.
It was a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon, Sept. 17th last year to be exact. We had all just filled up our rods at the gas station. We are on our way home from the NSRA show in Kzoo, MI. My dad pulls out of the station first and hops on the highway. A couple miles down the road theres a boom and tons of smoke and he loses all power. Pulls over right away. Dave (our Hero in this story) is just merging on the highway at the exit right there and sees Dad in his White 37 Ford ragtop pull over with smoke coming from underneath his rod. The rest of us had by now caught up to dad and are also on the side of the road. Shortly thereafter the guys come to the conclusion that there's a hole in the side of the motor that you can put your fist thru. Tow truck is called but what to do with the rod. Too far to have it flatbedded all the way home. Can get a truck and trailer and come get the rod in the morning, but what should we do with it tonight? Dave to the rescue!! He grasiously offered a spot in his garage till the next day or whenever we could get back. "Don't worry, no hurry". We all followed Dave, who leads the flatbed to his house, tucked the 37 in for the night, thanked Dave and his wife, over and over again, then bid them goodnight knowing that the rod was safe and sound till we could get back. This was what streetrodiing is all about. Guys like Dave and guys like all of you here. Rodders helping each other out and enjoying the pleasure of being able to help.
Thank you again Dave. Glad you found this site. Welcome aboard!!
