Phat....go to my tech links pages at www.inccn.net/jackstandslinks.htm and scroll down half way to "engine oil filters" . There are other things there too that you may be interested in?

Hey Steve, I looked at the oil filter link at the ICCN site. It doesn't work any longer. I didn't think it would. I saw the comparison about a year ago and just after that I heard that they were having an injunction slapped against them by the filter producers. Heard anything??? It was a terrific comparison and really made you think about which filter you had on your car now, never mind which filter you were going to buy next. If you find a link to the site let me know OK this time it's going on paper.

Yep, I agree. That's the one and why the page got taken down is beyond me. I will fix my page tho....

Thanks to Webby!

ps....buy anything made by WIX is the answer that I came away with. Including NAPA gold filters.....cheap really.

I read in one of the car mags some years ago about a real oil filter test and think it was Hot Rod but like I say, many years ago when they had a lot of tech stuff. The crux of the test was that Wix came out on top in almost all catagories of testing and I've tried to stay with that brand ever since. Even with a Ford deisel van for awhile but nothing (!) can keep deisel engine oil looking clean!!
I now have the filter study printed out (all 17 pages) so It won't be "filtered" out by >>>>someone<<<<<
