I realize that Lightnings don't qualify as streetrods, but a lot of my streetrodders friends have them. One of them just bought a new one and hates the ride (though he's getting in trouble with the rest of the package)..anyone know how to soften up the ride on this rocket?

Ahh... Take the SVT Lightning suspension package off and put stock F150 suspension under it maybe?
I thought you was talking about a British motorcycle for a minute till I did a search and came up with this; http://www.auto.com/reviews/fw_1003_svt.htm
It seems they made it handle...that usually shoots "ride" out the window....

the suspension keeps up with the rest of it, so you can take turns at speed without too much body roll/instability. It also keeps the wheels planted when taking off I would imagine.

This is a perfect example of someone buying more truck than he needed. And now he wants to ruin it by softening the ride. If he wanted ride he should have bought a Lincoln, then he could have ride and performance. hope he doesn't ruin a great truck.

A good friend of mine had a Lightening and complained about the ride. What he did to fix it was, he sold it and bought a sharp 1948 Chevy pickup. Says it rides better. I guess that's one way of doing it?

How ya soften up a Lightning you ask? Well theres a couple routes you can take, either go with Ebiach or Toxic air shocks and put a set of Toxic sway bars that give just enough to give you that nice floating ride going straight and that good tight feeling in the corners or if you wanna get a little light in the pocket theres simply 2 words that I dont think we need to mention too much since we've all seen and had personal experiences with this seeing how we're all rodders.... "Air Ride", your cheapest and best bet is to go with Toxic or Ebiach though or even Edelbrock shocks and sway bars. Ebiach Toxic handle most all new car stuff and being familiar with both since I have each of their products on my new playtoy I wouldn't steer you wrong, thats how good they better the ride. Edelbrock seems to please alot of people here as of late, I've noticed more and more new cars running Edelbrock as well as the other companies. Do your homework and im sure you'll fine tune whatever setup you chose to fit your needs.
