Getting ready to buy a hood for the hiboy.I like the look of the smooth side hoods, but not sure about cooling.I have a large Spal puller fan, would I need a pusher also?Any one running this setup(no louvers)on their hoods. Thanks,Bob

I have run solid hoods for years. With a 16" Spall puller fan you shouldn't have any problems. Unless you go too wild on your engine. I have a 32 sedan delivery I have been driving for 16 years. It started out with a solid hood, then one year I had to repaint the hood sides so I decided to punch louvers in them. Three rows each side. It didn't change the temperature the car runs 1 degree. It really surprised me.

I won't dispute what cabriolethiboy says about him not having heat problems, as I still run and have for 23 yrs the stock 37 Ply radiator. But I have read that if you change the air flow from it's original design, it could and has caused some heating problems. So there are two answers, both the opposite. Go figure. Try it without any openings and if it heats up, open up some holes. I run mine like it was built and no problems here.
