Anyone out there collect license plates. Can anyone tell me any history of oklahoma plates. Ive got a 1932 plate from oklahoma and here we can register them and run them like a special tag. They are telling me that the number that i have on this tag is taken, how can that be. Ive heard that in 32 they made two of each tag, I dont know. Also ive heard that they came in two different colors. Does anyone have a clue or no where to look.??

I ran across this web site. He is a collector of License plates and seems to have some knowledge of them. I think you would have to e-mail him. I looked and didn't see any from Okie. http://www.io.com/~dork/index.html
Hope this helps. I may come up with some more sites. If I do, I'll post them.

If anybodys lookin for Maryland tags from 1956 till 2000 let me know, if I haven't did away with them I'll look for whatever you want. After my grandfather died we got to rummaging around clearing out 60 years of occumilation and found tags from '56 to present complete with papers. If you need somethin' i'll see if I cant get ya fixed up.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, go to the Library and look for a book called "License Plates of the USA. That may help as far as the history.

Here in North Carolina ,in the early years tags came in pairs for front & rear of your car. Maybe your state was the same and someone else has the other tag that matches yours. Also the 2 colors, here cars used one color say Black with Yellow numbers and light trucks used Red with white numbers all in the same year. Heavier trucks used the same color but the tag said Truck on it. Here we buy our regular tag every year and keep it in the car or trunk, and we can run any N.C. tag on the car as long as its the same year as the car. Go figure? Regards,HonestFrank

Might try this guy from Prescott, AZ:

Stan Rutt
402 Roma Avenue
Prescott, AZ 86301
(928) 771-0684

He's a member of the Automobile License Plate Collectors Assn., and I have purchased several plates from him in years past. Some of them are a bit "pricey", however they are the hard to find items. Guy is a real talker and very interesting to talk to........jb EXSEDAN
