Yep, you heard me right, Speedvision will be no more here real soon. I just got a e-mail from a friend that read a article on this subject.
From what I gathered, Speedvision was bought out by FOX just to cover NASCAR and maybe some other shows but I got a feeling once the "real" Speedvision goes off thats gonna be the end of that. Why for the life of me did this happen I'll never know nor understand seeing how bad Fox's NASCAR coverage was to say the least dispicable before they switched to TNT. Since yesterday Speedvision has got a ton of e-mails from viewers about this, and lets just say they're getting a ear-full from a many a Speedvision viewer, myself included.
I agree there has to be changes in everything but why take a first class station to the dump?
So long Barrett-Jackson
So long Dream Car Garage
So long Hot Rod Magazine TV.......and many other great shows they've had on in the last few years.

That's too bad. I enjoyed alot of what was on, ( mostly the car related shows), however, seems like most of what I saw when flipping on the tube was boat shows and repair etc., or 20 straight hours of motorcycle races or something of that nature. So what will 'Fox' have programmed besides NASCAR or is that it?
It looks to me like theres going to be some NASCAR races most Busch Races more than likely some IH and NHRA drags and as far as auto related sport events that'll be that. I sure hope they keep Dream Car Garage, Barrett Jackson Hot Rod TV and some of the other decent "car" related stuff on and get rid of the 24 Hours of boating and all that crotch rocket stuff. They could even do away with the Indy Cars and the F-1 rides and i'll be pleased as long as they keep the good stuff on but I got a feeling if Fox gets it for sure they'll make it just as bad if not worse than what NASCAR was on FX...before NASCAR switched to TNT and CBS Fox FX had THE WORST coverage of Nascar I've ever saw, and to think myself and a lot of others complained till we had it, I wish we would have never complained till we got it now seeing how bad it turned out. The way they had the "High Tech" graphics set up you saw the first 3 cars a banner running half way down your tv screen at the top and just the same down below. That got really old and people started contacting them and next thing you know it was gone and on to TNT which is tolerable. But anyway back to business, I do like all of Speedvisions car related shows and sure hope they keep at it no matter if its Speedvision or FOX.

I read the article 'smittyshotrods' posted. (thanks). Do you think 'Streetrodder TV' is exclusively (contracted) to ESPN or maybe the new SPVSN. can program something along those lines. Seems like you have to be a detective to follow when 'streetrodder' comes on espn.
Since I'm a casual fan of NASCAR I'm not up on all the graphic problems Fox had, however, I went to the NASCAR truck races at St. Louis 'Gateway' racetrack earlier this year and absolutely got blown away by being right there! The smell, sound, and feel is impossible to describe.

That's news to me since Goodguys just signed a deal with Speedvision and K&N to do a weekly show covering Goodguys events.

Maybe it's not gone "forever", they may just be doing some winter cleaning then firing up a new and improved (I only hope) Speedvision! Time will tell!

my roommate came home one night and insisted we needed Speedvision. We sprung for the top level Direct-TV package (the only package where it's available) and all we see are motorcycle races, vintage sports car racing and fiberglass power boats. What a waste of time and money. Every once in a while there's csome high-dolar geek from Canada telling me how to clean the grille on my Curtis with a toothbrush or another guy showing me some filthy-rich shop owner taking doctors and lawyers to teh cleaners for "restoring" their sixties high performance vehicle. Last thing I saw was the shop owner bragging that he paid something like 5 grand for a '62 Plymouth grille. Get a life! I'm not interested in some retarded auto enthisuast's foolish spending habits. What happened to the LSR coverage? What happened to el-Mirage coverage?
That channel sucks big time. It's geared to the armchair wannabe.

Speedvision needs all of the Crotch rocket enduro's, Motorcycle races, boat shows and any thing else thats related to the sport of racing (well we probably could leave out sidewalk surfing)but without all this other stuff we would either see a lot of reruns or the station would fail due to lack of viewers. I my self could do with out "Dream car garage" its nothing but Mopar stuff.(boy, did I open a can of worms)But then theres million's of people that have Mopars and dont feel the same way as I do. I would hate to see Fox change anything, it could mean the end if its not done right with varity.
