We'll be there. Only missed the first Rhinebeck Goodguys.
We stay with friends in Hyde Park. It's a LOT nicer than Kingston, the same driving distance, but you don't have to cross that dang bridge. Might want to search out rooms there if you need them. Lotsa mom & pop places.
We use to park on the corner by Blondies, but last year some guys got up at 0-dark-30 to get there. Will be on the hill behind Blondies this year.

I can't find the number for Cappolas. It's been a few years since I've stayed there. The name is Cappola's Village Inn in Hyde Park.
We stay with friends down there now. I'll get some names and numbers from them and email them to you Monday.
Off to Lake George for the weekend!

Hi Charlis, I`ll be upthere on that hill too, I`ve been in that spot for the last 8 or so years. I dont need any rooms, I live 2 miles from the fairgrounds in Red Hook. Hows that for luck. My Hot rod and custom shop is right outside Tivoli.

Ed, we parked on the hill last year after some guys that got up REAL early got the spot we had for the last 8 years by Blondies.
They can have it. I need my beauty sleep! LOTS of it! hehe
You can spot us easy. Look for the big silver ramp truck with the Willys on it if you don't see our Olds. Look forward to meeting you.
BTW. I'm sure you know Frankie from Hyde Park with the Graffiti coupe. I stay at his moms house along with his sister and brother in law, who live up here now. It's great, not only 'cause it's free, but the whole family is crazy. It takes my sides a week to stop hurting from all the laughter!
After the 4 day stress fest in Lake George this weekend, I can't wait to get down to Rhinebeck!

I think the Graffiti coupe is home to stay this time. At least I hope it is.
Frankie and I took a ride at Friar Tuck. Felt like "Paridise Road". All we needed was a rolling over 55 Chevy in the other lane. The man is nuts! hehe
Lake George was great, but stressful too. I'd guess over 2000 cars in town, but the nice weather brought EVERYONE out. There was a sea of anti freeze running down Canada street Saturday night.
Hope the weather holds for this coming weekend. I remember all too well when Hugo blew though a couple years ago. The big Olds dang near got blown off the Rhinecliff bridge!

The Hotrod Hoedown sounds like a good time too!
Someone at Lake George said they got a room at a mom & pop place in Red Hook. Ed, any ideas? Had 2 more guys call me today looking for rooms. They called every place in Kingston and Hyde Park, no room at the inn!

Well if ya don`t mind camping, I got a few acres of wooded and flat land, if you want to use tents or even a camper or two. I just ask that you keep it as clean as it is when you leave. It`s only 2 miles from Rhinebeck. Hey Charlie, is Frank goin? if so...put out the chairs and tie up the ropes so I can POWER PARK my way in there....teehee. Just kidding people, there`s enough power parkers that are gonna be there by Wednesday.

Frankie doesn't do much parking of any kind. He usally runs a tank of gas through the Graffiti coupe, just running around the fairgrounds.
Do you know the name of a mom & pop place in Red Hook? Someone told me they got rooms their last week, but couldn't remember the name.

You areright about him and his coupe, he has no mercy for the pavement...lol. I did some checking around, all rooms sold out, s.o.l. You are usually good up to three weeks before the event locally. one week is pushing it. Next year it`ll be tougher. So register early, those who need rooms.

We go through this, trying to find this guy a room at the last minute every year. He's a workaholic, and is never sure if he's going until it's usally too late.
If he doesn't find anything, he'll probably bunk in with another freind at the Roosevelt in Hyde Park.

Hey Ed,
Every time I'd find you, you moved!
Sat almost next to you at the awards. Didn't now it was you until they asked who won the giveaway car before.
Awards get over, poof, you're gone again.
Either you move fast or I move slow!
Maybe I'll catch you at the spring Rhinebeck.

This was my 1st Rhinenbeck adventure--but not my last! Great place, super weather and nice people! We camped on the fairground with another 100 or so campers, my motor home was parked next to an Eagle Bus that had a custom paint job and custom interior (street rodded bus). Food in town was great also, really liked Marko Polo's Itialian "bar." The car were a different set than I'd seen before, many being from NY, VT, NH, CT and MA. Not many of them are at Charlotte or Indy. The trip from Maryland to NY was a bit on the sad side after traveling up the NJ turnpike past NYC. Comming back you still could see smoke comming up from the City. Good Guys did it again -- another Super event.
