There are a few convertibles for sale on streetrodding.com that may be of interest to any rod-less people out there who would be looking for something in a 46-48 chev or pontiac!(you know who you are!)

If I knew someone who was looking for a 46-48 Chevy convertible,I'd sure tell them. Let me think. Hummmmmmm... Who do I know thats looking for one? I seem to remember a person who's car got burnt in a bodyshop fire, but that was over a year ago. She's surely replaced it by now.

Very funny, but this past weekend in Kzoo I was able to sleep in and get to the show at a normal hour (10am) instead of having to worry about getting up early to get a great parking space! LOL Where have you been lately stranger? You going to Gas City or Fairmont this weekend for the James Dean runs?
Thanks for the tips guys. The one in CA is about $20 grand out of my price range but I will check the others out.

I'll be at James Dean/Ducktail the last weekend of this month and may get to the Rebel Run the weekend before. Probably have to drive the beater as my 51 will be getting a few new additions. Trying to get ready for the Pumpkin Run the first weekend of Oct. And the Boonesboro Boogie the weekend after that. And what's this about getting a good parking spot? Rods and Kustoms have wheels for a reason. To Cruise :) You know I had to get a dig in about your rod-less condition. (hope jason doesn't take that the wrong way and delete this post) I don't blame you for holding out. After we looked at that thing in Canada I can see why it's so hard to find a affordable GOOD street rod.

There is a lot of "no dissapointments" trash out there but there are a few jewels out there- you just have to keep looking until you find it.Good luck Denise!
I'll assume your talking about new rod candidates. LOL Didn't find anything that I wanted that was for sale at Kzoo. There was an orginal 47 Chevy ragtop with a straight 6 there for sale. The guy was asking $22,000. He must have bumped his head on the way to the fairgrounds. Needed to be streetrodded to suit me. Adding the asking price with the cost of dropping in a new drivetrain, bodywork, paint etc. way to much $ involved.
37Fordor, I looked at that 47 a year ago when it belonged to a guy here in Mi. He was asking $37,ooo firm on a rod that was worth about $30, at the most. Paint was awesome, interior was nice, but still has the orginal dash, engine wasn't that detailed, nothing was shaved, no power anything, and the rear end wasn't sitting even under the car. One wheel rub, the other one had about 4 inch clearence. He then called me about 3 months later willing to discuss price. Not interested at that point. He had it for sale this past Aug in Louisville still and was asking $39,000. He finally traded it to a guy from Terra Haute at the Auburn auction. The guy who has it now has called me cuz he heard I'm looking but he needs to get $39,000 out of it!! I still haven't given up on the rod from NY that I really, really want. It SHOULD be in Charlotte. He goes there every year with his club so hopefully......
There's also another 47 Chevy in St Paul that I really, really want. He doesn't want to sell it either but on Thursday night at the host hotel in Kzoo I ran into this guys best buddy in the bar. We had a few drinks and did alittle dancing. Supposedly he's going to try to convince his buddy to sell me the rod. Don't know what he's going to do that I haven't already tried!! LOL
Oh well, theres still the Cruzn the Coast show and Charlotte yet this year.
I've seen a couple of really great looking 35 and 36 Chevy converts lately. Seriously might consider one if the right one came along. Keep your eyes and ears open for me. Thanks

Got my eyes open Denise...didn't see much of anything this year that was in your range and what you wanted. A friend of mine is in the same boat your in, he's been wanting a 'vert or Cabriolet of any make or model in the $35-46k range and has came up empty. The only thing thats been remotely close is a Coast to Coast '39 Ford he had about a year ago and sold cuz it was a P.O.S. He had it built and the guy who did the work didn't know what he was doing, he butchered the car Bill got it saw what he did to it they took legal action, didn't ammount to a hill of beans, Bill sold the car last year and its already on its 5th owner. Bill saw the Prez of C to C in Louisville and they struck up a deal a 2 year old wouldn't pass up. Coast said they'll build the body set it on a complete frame of Bills choice minus the motor rims tires interior and paint, ship it down here and Bill will take it from there. Speaking of which I think if I read right another company is starting plans to build a '37 Chevy based around a Coast to Coast and I did a few drawings of a '39 Chebby based on a Coast to Coast look sent it to the WILD RODS company that just debuted the '37 Ford Coast to Coast Minotti Gibbon and a few other 'glass body manufacturers, im waiting to hear back from them if they like what they see or not.
Charlotte and the gobble run may find you a new play toy! Keep that head up, we'll find you somethin' sooner or later.
