There is a man who lives near KC who sells old ford parts. He also states he can help with getting quality plating. His name is Glenn Marion, Grain Valley, MO. (816)224-5296
I have no first hand knowledge, but beings he is close to your area, he might be helpful. I have seen his add in Hemmings for several years now. Hope this helps.

Many years ago (about 15-20) there was a place called Arrow Plating in Baxter Springs, KS near Joplin, MO. He was able to plate some pot metal pieces as well as my brass radiator shell. Also did the usual steel stuff. Don't know if he's still there or not.

Here's a guy in Michigan that does good work. http://www.brassplater.com I've never had anything done, but I've seen some ChrisCraft boat restoration stuff that he did and it is great. I've talked to him and he's a car guy.

Any good chrome shop will do that for you, don'tunderstand the hard to find a shop a shop that will do just one part. That's only true if your dealing with a straight production shop doing industrial type work. That grille is going to be extremely expensive to do though. Its easily in the $1500- range real quick. If you can find a shop that will work with you you can do a lot of the work yourself and save money. Buddy just had a 34 done locally and it went thru several copper coats to build up imperfections and he did all but the final polishing in order to cut the labor costs still he was into it over a bill, before he was done. Its truly about the most expensive grille to be done. You could save yourself some money by dealing with a anadian company such as Alberta Plating in Calgary, They're reputable and do great work. And as an added bonus our dollars buy a lot more north of the border. And they do a lot of cross border business.

Zap, Thanks for the tip, Didn't think it would be that high. Guess painting it don't look that bad after all.
The grill it's self is in real good shape. Just need to be chromed. It's the trim peice that has some defects.

Rick,
You might give Louie Meyers a call and ask him. He still does the best polishing around, and can more than likely help. He lives in Indep. 816-650-3561
