You may want to qualify the weekly poll question somewhat.
I have owned street rods in both Texas & Missouri and had them registered in both those states as "historical" or "antique" vehicles. In both cases the cars are exempt from the state inspection program.

Fred, That's if you want antique plates in Missouri. If you want standard plates you have to get the car inspected. Unless it's less than two years old.

That's what I said Cruzr. I had mine regsitered as antique with YOM plates. That is the best way to go if the state has that type of program.
And I know about Michigan, Divco13, I see those cars come down here to Texas all the time. I was a cop for 22 years & we loved to find those fools running around our roads. LOL!
Besides I'm an Ohio State fan. Go Bucs!

Fred, how many of those folks claimed they were Gypsys?
Itinerent hot rodders. I used that one once when stationed in California and it worked there fairly well but in my estimation, the worst folks (read: state police) are/were the guys in Alabama that had no sense of humor and wore the glasses that you can see yurself in. A no title state but you went thru the second degree every day you showed yurself in anything older than a 1950 John Deere. Especially if the tail pipe made sparks...lol As you stated, here in Texas you can side step a lot of red tape and state BS with the Antique plates. Insurance is cheaper too!!! Fred P

I know here in ILLINOIS,if you get Antique Plates, the ONLY time you're "allowed" to drive it iz:
To the car wash and back,in a Parade,or to a "LOCAL" car show.I think it's so unfair,to put restrictions on something you hand built to show off to everyone, but "HEY" it's clean...............
