WOW! If anyone is having problems with poor tail light output, you might want to try the product I got from Sachse Rod Shop (Pete & Jake's has em too). They are made by Advanced Fiber Optics. They replace your stock light housing with a more wide open, prisim shaped white powder coated housing that puts out about 3 times as much light through the lens than stock without using a brite or halogen bulb.
Takes a little modification of the stock fender housing (at least on a 42-48 Ford) but well worth the time & effort.
I think they make them for 42-48 Ford & Chevy, 39 Ford teardrop, Model A and some others.
I was having problems with people not being able to see my brake lights in bright daylight while we were on the Goodguys Columbus Tour, but one of the guys had them on his Model A & he told me about them & this has fixed that problem.
