I have been viewing this site for several months and really enjoy reading what you folks have to say, so I have decided to join. I grew up on a farm in northeast Kansas and joined the Marines at age 17, the only way to get off the farm. I put in 22 years and retired in 1989. While in North Carolina, I bought a bondo filled 1940 Ford coupe, but with help from friends, I totally rebuilt it to include chopping the top. That project took me 6 years and completed it in 1992, the same time my wife retired from the Marines. We travel the US for a year and settled down in Upper Michigan, about 100 miles north of Marquette. I then collected enough parts to put together a 1940 Ford pickup, which I should have completed within a year. About 2 years ago, I sold my 40 Ford coupe and purchased a turnkey 34 Chev pro-street. This car makes me feel like I am 16 again, lots of fun to drive. Anyway, thanks for allowing me to join this site. Seems to be a group of great people.
Tinbender, good luck on your new job. I just changed jobs a few months back after working construction since moving up here. I also took a big pay cut, but now I enjoy getting up in the morning a going to work again.

Sorry about the other introduction. I think I figured out how to properly respond to the correct message instead of making a new one. I am new at this computer and trying to learn how to use it. Anyway, Cruzr, I answered your question by creating a new post.

Welcome aboard Lynn- I, too,am a newcomer to this site. I was a lurker for a long time but finally made the move. If you are 100 miles north of Marquette, you must be in the Houghton area. I grew up in the U.P. in a little town on the western end called Bessemer (about 6 miles west of the infamous town of Hurley Wis. I have lived in the Marquette area since 1969. Moved here to go to college and stayed. I can't think of a better place to live. Anyway, glad to see you on board. Maybe we will bump into each other some day since we are almost "neighbors". Don
