I think this was covered in the past but I could not locate the thread. I know there are a lot of wiring kits out there for street rods, and Ron Francis is the leader in the field. But what other companies have you had good luck with. And have you been satisfied with their customer service? Thanks.

I used "E-Z wiring" on my car and it worked very well. The wire is marked every 6 inches with it's function and there was enough of each wire to probably do a looong Cadillac! I went with E-Z not so much for the kit itself but didn't like Ron Francis at a show when he was just plain rude. There are others also that you can find in the ads in the mags but if I had it to do over, it would still be E-Z wiring. Fred P

Fred, how long ago did you buy your E-Z wiring kit? The old E-Z Wire was located in Wis. it now is called St. Vrain Wire. The new E-Z Wire is in Fl. Talked to the fellow in Wis he didn't have exclusive rights to the name and this company in Fl. started using it so he dropped the E-Z name as he was already in business for other wiring products under the St. Vrain name.

I use only CENTECH wiring kits. I have talked to the owners and they KNOW what they are doing. They even calibrate their crimping equipment and use some sort of traceable calibration and this means they have a quality organization.
I only use the "G" series that is based on the old GM blocks.
I have had/seen/repaired charging problems with "PAINFULL" and they refused to acknowledge their problems in the mid to late nineties. I have seen at least a dozen kits with this inherent design problem. They also eat up terminals under high charging leading to complete battery failure. This is/was because they engineered the wrong size wire and wrong size connector. As a result the entire connector overheated and the rest is history.
Francis has some pretty good products but I have personally experienced poor service in the past. Maybe someone else can chime in and give an updated report. I still continue to hear "hearsay" about poor service though.
Do not use kits that take battery charging current through the fuse block. They are inherently poor engineers and who knows what the other things are amiss.
I do not have any working experience with EZ... don't know.

I bought a Ron Francis wiring kit about 6 months ago for my 40 Ford pickup. It took about 10 days and it was on my door step. About 10 to 12 years ago, I bought a Francis kit for my 40 Ford coupe, and from what I remember, it took about 10 days to arrive. I never had a problem with the first kit so I don't know about any followup problems. It was easy to wire so that's why I bought another one for my current project. There was plenty of wire in the kits.

i used american autowire out of bellmawr nj..they are marked every 3"..and the kit i got has it so you run the acc and wiring to the fuse panel..so you can mount the fuse panel anywhere in the car..i mounted mine in the trunk, ran all my wires from there connections, i.e. headlights, tail lights and had enough extra wire left over to do the whole thing again if i wanted..anyway there all good..just my 2 cents worth.....pat

I used a Haywire kit 18 circuit in my 55 Chev and and it went in pretty easy. It had a few circuits I was not going to use so just switched them to some extra I wanted and in it went. I called them a couple of times before I actually did and they were great
