Anyone familiar with getting a Maryland title & VIN for a Street Rod (In MD, a recently
manufactured chassis & body, 32 Ford, is termed a kit car). I have a copy of the rules & regs. from
the MD. motor vehicle admin. but not must detai is provided. The car must be inspected at Glen
Burnie, MD by the state police. I guess you have to trailer the car there---But does anyone know what
the inspection process is??? and what passes inspection and what does not. Particularly the MVA's
view on loud mufflers and fenderless cars as I expect to have the necesssary safety equip.
Does MD title the veh. as a 32 or 2002
I've got some reservations about buying a title, but doing research

I'm not sure about Maryland ? North Carolina D.M.V. now wants a notarized statement from the previous owner on the condition of the vehicle when it was sold . You need to get information from a Rod & Custom club in Maryland before you do anything. Just my 2 cents. Regards,HonestFrank

In South Carolina we have what is called a builders title and you have to furnish all bill of sales for big ticket idems. But if you have a title then you can build as what ever you are building.I have had people in N.C. sell me there car for a dollar and i title it for them and that way they get out of a bunch of paper work.
