Hey everyone! As you can imagine, selecting the Rod of the Month candidates each month is quite a task. I'm asking you to help us out. Does anyone have any ROTM theme ideas they would like to see. For example, this month was the green theme (for St. Patty's). We like to use something that can span all of the categories. I appreciate any help!

Just skip the theme and "spin the wheel" so to speak, of all the members rides, finished or unfinished, Hi buck or lo buck. That would make the monthly choice simple and precise. Past pics excluded.

I like that, instead of a popularity contest, just feature a rod each month. You could even ask the owner to provide more indepth info., kinda like doing an article on his/ her car.
If not, some themes could be:
Regional, south, east , etc.
Unfinished
best red rod
most unique
Odd ball manufacturer
tiniest
dirtiest
most unusuall color
patriotic- red, white, blue

I second the vote for "cheap / non-running". Here's the picture of my ride's future powertrain though . . . .

The only problem with not narrowing it down alittle before the vote, is you've got around 100 members that will be trying to select a "winner" each month out of a possible 1000+ cars in the studio. I think the "themes" are a fun idea.

Well, someone would have to narrow it down to 4-5 cars randomly, or whatever then pick from those.
I think the prob is comming up with a "theme" every month. I do like that, but prob not much help to the webby as far as suggestions, been there done that...everyone is gun ho but never follows thru. Just my thoughts

I don't like the idea of competing with each other. Each car has its own value...especially to the owner/builder, even if others don't like it. I'd like to see a monthly featured car where the owner can tell us about his or her car for what it is...a creation meant to make one person happy..the owner. Those that would like to participate can put their names in the hat and when their turn comes up, they have a chance to show us what they've got. I guess that's what the Studio is for, tho. I'm just not much on trophies, but that's just me. I'm sure that the people that got picked for ROTM have felt honored to think others liked their cars.
I can understand how difficult it must be to pick different categories every month. I'm sure someone will come up with something. I'm going to bed....zzzzzz

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Just browsing to the Studio section, I was reminded that the page generates 5 random rides each time it is opened. Maybe that is a good way to "spin the wheel" and narrow it down to 5 picks.
