Some of you folks have been adding pictures right on the roundtable post (?)......O.K. how do you do it ?
I am not a 'puter genius, so, if you can answer this one, please type slowly so I can understand. I would love to be able to add a picture, now and then, to a post on the roundtable. Please advise. Thanks.

Well, here's how I do it. (it's not a big secret) I have a web page. I scan my photo in, post it on my page, and copy the URL, and post it here. If that doesn't mean anything to you, I'll elaborate!

You have to have your item (image, picture , or whatever you want to post) "out there in cyber space." The location in cyber space, or address in cyber space for your item is the "URL."

To get a URL, you have to post it somewhere. That's the hard part. Find your own "space". It can be an AOL web page like mine, or a photo album, or a web page that will "host" your item. You have to be careful, because some places (like yahoo) will only allow a certain amount of traffic to view the photo. You will notice on this site, that a photo works one day, and the next the link is broken, and a red X appears where the photo once appeared. This is one cause of the red X. I can tell you that my AOL space has never failed in this capacity.

Once you have a "space" to post your photo, you're in business. Post your photo there. When you view the photo, right mouse click on it. You will get a menu box. On the bottom of the menu, you'll see properties, click on that. You'll get another box with a whole bunch of info., including the "URL" Simply highlight and copy the URL. Then come to SRS and paste it in the "image URL" box.

If you see a photo somewhere else on the web that you want to post, get the URL the same way, and paste it here.

I hope this helps. Once you get the hang of it, posting photos is a breeze.

At the top of your monitor is a "task bar". See where the word PEOPLE is? Hit the little tringle there. It will pull down choices for you. Alittle more then half way down is the "create a home page". Click on that and follow the directions.

If you just want to post photos using AOL, go to the word SERVICES at the top, on your task bar. Hit the tringle. You'll see, "you've got pictures". Follow the directions there to upload your photos from your computer to AOL then from there you can follow BOB's directions about coping the URL and pasteing. If anyone here really can't get it and you'd like verbal help over the phone, e-mail your number and I'll call ya. I promise I won't breath heavy! LOL

Denise,Thanks for TRYING to help,but just as I thought It's hopeless!!I am running AOL 6.0 as when I upgrade to 7.0 my computer loads at 1/4 the speed as it does on 6.0.The headings on top are a bit differant,I don't have"you've got pictures" under services and under people mine says "AOL Hometown".I was able to create a homepage but after spending 1/2 hour loading photos,I clicked back to view the page and it was empty!Just like when I put money in the bank,usually by the next time I look,it's gone!Have been in the office working on my taxes all day,should have expected nothing less!May give it a go another day! You can modify the size of your photo in Microsoft Photo editor. Click on "Image" button at top, and choose "resize". You will get dimmension boxes, use the up/ down arrows on the side to change the size.

I think the red X replaces the photo when a page such as Yahoo photo album, or even our DSRA yahoo group is used. The traffic generated by posting the photo here exceeds the alotted space, thus shutting the immage down. (something like that) it might work for a day, but will eventually break the link. The most sure- fire way is to use "your" web space.

I always go back and view the photo in the "album" before I copy it. There's a box to hit when your viewing, to view it larger. At that point is where I right click, hit properties, then copy the URL.

All right,I've got the photos displayed in my AOL Album,I guess.Anyway,when I right click them and then select "properties"I get a screen that does have the "URL" displayed but after I highlite it,the functions at the top of my screen are "dead" and I can't do a thing with it,can't copy,paste or anything.I really don't have anything I need to post,I just HATE the fact that this box is smarter than I am.Any suggestions???See Ya!!

When you highlight the properties then right click on the highlighted part that's when your copy option should drop down. Then you can hit that section! Good luck!

Do as you did, RIGHT click, hit properties, LEFT click and drag, which highlights the URL address, making sure you've captured the whole thing. (probley close to three lines long). Release LEFT click. Now RIGHT click MOUSE and you will see the COPY function. Click on that.

Then go to SRS and PASTE in the "image URL" on the post you want. Good Luck. I'll be back at/around 8PM if your still having trouble. When you do it for the first time, you'll smack your forehead and go Duh! Seen Debb do that a few times! LOL

35 Delivery, you can't post pics from webshots, yahoo, or geocities. Who do you have internet service with? Do they offer a free personal webpage for users? If so, you can upload pics to that and then post them here...maybe.

Yeah, but that one didn't come thru. Are you sure you have the album properties set for "Public" viewing? Also, in webshots, I think you have to be in your Community Page, then pick an album or picture to link to. It looks like you might have tried to link to a picture you were viewing in the "My Photos" part of webshots. Check it out and give 'er another try.

I can tell by the address that you posted that you are in the "edit photos" section. See where the address you posted has "editPhotos" in it?

You have to copy and paste the address from "My Public Community Page". This is one of my public community pages http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodpurple . You need to go to the page on your webshots that looks similar to that then go to the album or pic that you want to link to and copy and paste the address from there.

If this doesn't work just shoot yourself.....

Are you sure your computer is plugged in???

Thanks Phil/Bob,I can see it also!A miracle!That is a picture of the latest project as it appeared before I got my hands on it.It now is missing the front sheetmetal,has a new Heidts front end installed,dash/wiring removed waiting for a Bitchin Firewall/floor to arrive so I can remove the body and finish the chassis.Hope to have it done for the Nat's in August! I guess I am a very slow "reader"...........I almost went into OVERLOAD, that happened to me a couple times before, once just before I drove into a bridge abutment (?). It was not a pretty sight ! You say I've got to have a web site or page ? Well no matter, I feel lucky just to make this puter function (at times). My first year in college they gave me a sliderule (no battereys)................... I'll try a few times and see what happens........? Thanks for the help
