Can you make it on Sunday? I'll be there with John, Bad-Dog. I'm meeting him at his palce at noon, checking out his 47 then were going to head over to the show. Lets say 2pm to be safe and how about in front of the BeCool booth. They are usually against the back wall, kind of on the right. I should be easy to spot, my club jacket has my name on the front and John's just as easy to spot, he's got a huge handlebar mustache. Looking forward to meeting you in person. :)

I was hoping to meet my new SRS friends on Sunday but 30 minutes ago I learned that my father just passed away in his sleep. He survived cancer 10 years ago, having it in his prostrate, and recently spread to his spine. He was 72 years young. Before christmas, the illness started to wear him down real bad and quick, but he was home over the holidays and we had a great time visiting with grandchilderan present and photos to capture last moments. He died peacefully in his sleep and there can't be much of a better way to go than hanging on in insurmountable pain. I know my Dad is at peace now and I can deal with him out of pain, for once.....

Larry, so sorry to hear about your father, but you can't be more correct about being in pain. I am glad that he went peacefully. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks Denise, Wayne, Debb, Daryle, Bill & Gail for the sincere thoughts and condolences.
I started collecting cars (mostly Corvairs & Chevelles) some 25 years ago and my parents didn't really like the junk around, their farm. My twin and I had +20 cars outside in the barn yunk sitting on cement (as my dad drove a cement truck) and several jems inside the empty barn in dry storage. None of our purchases looked like junk to use as outside parts cars were lined up perfectly!!!
Those distant years ago, we would have lots of visiters to the homestead to buy a part or two. One day a man, my dads age, stopped to see if I had any 1961/62 Impala parts and he said to my pops, "your boys have a good collection, and they are not in trouble with the law in this hobby". You must be proud of them, and a big smile of pride came over my Dad's face.
The farm and those days have been gone for 10 years but I cherish the thought of driving out to the farm, going to the fridge, crack open a Labatts Blue and ask my dad to steer me up the ramps, in the pole barn, so I could change the oil on my daily driver every two months. The oil, lube & filter change was a joint effort that my Dad liked as much as I did. Sometimes the simplest of tasks are the ones to cherish. I was doing body and paint work every 3 weeks in the month, on weekends those days. I simply loved them times!!!

Larry, Sorry to hear about your Dad. I just wish everybody had a story like that to tell. I know I'm trying to build that with my boys. My deepest sympathy to you and Nancy and family.

Also to Randy, Dick & Wayne, thanks for your sincere thoughts on the passing of my father. Alot of people visited my dad at the funeral home and it was good to see many cousins & several school mates that I havn't meet for 20 years. Alot of time goes buy when your raising a family, but good friends & relatives can ease the pain.
I like this site and all the friends it has to offer. When I first heard of my dads death, I posted a note to my SRS friends as soon as the house was empty and it made me feel better, to share my feelings, to those that care.
Thank you all!!! Your car budy from Ontario...LARRY

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I am sure he knew he was loved and got to enjoy his children and grandchildren. This is something that almost every child goes thru. Doesn't make it any easier, but there are many out here who have been there and understand your loss. Your new SRS friends will see you on down the road. Go support the family..... Randy
