After the rain soaked us up pretty good on saturday I've decided to look for an ez up style canopy to carry with us. These guys are REAL proud of what they are selling. Does anybody have a cheap source for these?? Most places are $300 plus shipping (OUCH!) for a standard 10X10 w/a steel frame. That sure would buy a lot of beer instead.

Also forgot to mention price does vary (hold the comments! lol) with size. They got 'em no bigger then a one person deal on up to where you can park your whole collection of cars under 'em.
10x10 shouldn't be all that expensive.

Yup! bought a 10x10 at Wal Mart on sale 2 years ago but you know how it is with Murphy when you have a good thing going....Mine literally filled the sections with enought water in a heavy downpour and not being able to push the water out, it got so heavy that it just leaned over slowly and went all the way down. Still have a pile of metal legs out back that need to go to the junkyard. Would do it again but need a trailor now what with coolers etc. It was a good deal then @ $89.95...FredP
so whats wrong with primer?

I got one like George posted and paid $79.00 about 6 years ago from a sporting good store. Also have the one that has the pointed top. Got it for $109.00 at Dicks sporting goods.
Also use one that made of galvanize tubing. and a trap. have about $50.00 in it. Cut the tubing in 3 ft lenghts and spot weld a bolt inside one end of the tubing. (so the other end will slide on to it.) We use two section for each leg. Then we made a Y for the corners, (with bolts welded inside) for the top to the legs. We have 3, 3 section each across the top. Then we use a trap to cover it with. Then we use bungee cord to hook the top. Important ( weld a bracket to the bottom 4 legs so you can stake it down). For a carring bag we use a old bag from one of those folding chairs. This is ideal for those who have very little trunk space.( you can make it as big or as little as you want).

Why do people park in a driveway, and drive in a parkway?
I've got one that I bought used for $50 and I've used it a lot....many cool drinks consumed with pals under it while watching people and cars. If I get another one tho, I'll spend a little more for the one with the pointed top. The rain flows off a little easier...but they pack into a little longer bundle. My dome one caved in one day when it rained and I wasn't around. A few bends here and there and I was back in business.

Bill,Bought mine at Menards(lumber store)a while ago,it's an EZ Up,10X10,white powder coated steel frame, blue cover. It folds up small enough to get in the car and sets up easily with one person. They are available in my area for $129.99 and were on sale there last week for $99.00.Almost bought one just as a spare for the back yard. It's the same canopy I see for between 2 and 3 hundred dollars other places.I have had mine for 5 yrs or so with no problems other than the top is getting faded from use.If you can't find one,let me know and I'd be glad to get one and ship it to you if that would save you a few$$.See Ya!!

Bill the one I have is the same as the photo in Georges post,we must have been typing at the same time.....Funny how great minds think alike!!The rain does roll off the steeper one but it's more$$ and like George says,it's bigger and wouldn't fit in th trunk of some of the cars I've had....Not a problem for you,the delivery has more room than a moving van! See Ya!!

Here is the E-Z UP web site if you wnat to check them out.
http://www.ezup.com We got ours at Sam's Club $189.00 had it for six years.
p.s. If you buy one, make sure to get some type of weights for the legs. They do tend to catch wind and may blow over into someone's car or event worse, your's !

Love the EZ Ups, even though they are expensive. Biggest mistake I made was not getting the newer "shorty" unit. I have to carry it in the back seat because it is so big folded up. Check on the length of the canopy folded before you buy unless you drive a wagon.

Thanks Guys! I ended up at Lowes and picked up a 12X12 with a 3/4 side panel (on one side to protect from blowing rain) Quick shade, aluminum frame for $112. We set it up in the back yard yesterday and it'll work great.
