Any recommendations for an aftermarket chassis X member. I am putting a chev 350/400 turbo in a 36 Ford pickup. I notched out the original X member to accomodate the 400 turbo but am having second thoughts about that. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Bob

There is an add in street rodder from a person who makes a new section for the X member for the purpose of what your are doing. When I get home this afternoon, I'll see if I can find it for you.

Bob, try this web site. www.hot-rod-hell.com
Phone number is 1-877-746-8763
In my opinion, this crossmember kit is too expensive and if your good with metal work, you could probably make one using the picture as an example. Hope this helps a little.

Just got Septerber issue of Street Rodder and Morfab makes what I am looking for. They don't give a price and if it is to expensive it looks fairly simple to build. Thanks for your input. Very helpful as usual.

My 37 had a Chev/T400 set up when I got it. The X member was notched but not a great deal, but the engine was not recessed so that would make a difference. Now there's a 351 and C4 which clears OK so I welded the notches back up.
