I seen this real sweet 40 Ford P/U last month at Goodguys in Indy. The truck was parked under the grandstands in the Pros Pick area on Saturday near the finish line end of the stands. It was a Dark blue none metallic color with some very subtle pinstriping. The top had been chopped and the suspension was bagged(I'm guessing)and it had a tan colored interior.I know the truck is from Ohio,Any help in locating the owner would be appreciated. My wife wants a car painted the same color as that truck. Thanks in advance

Didn't get there, but I do have some ideas on dark blue paint. I used Chrysler "Nightwatch Blue" on my ragtop and I was real happy with it. It was a mid '80s commercial color. Mercedes and Volkswagon have similar hues. Check a paint chart at your local auto body supply place and you'll see what I mean - great color.

I run a body shop and have access to all the usual color charts that any auto body supply store will have.I just need the owners name or phone # so i can get the brand of paint and paint code.I can cross reference the #'s so I can mix it to my liking.

47convert, that's a great looking color on your '47. I'm
looking for some kind of dark blue for my '32 roadster.
Have you ever seen the "Nightwatch Blue" used on other
rods, like older coupes or roadsters? I prefer a solid
non-metallic type of paint, but a clear coat looks good.
Is your color non-metallic??
Thanks, Ed

I saw the truck at indy and I think I saw it in columbus. Pretty sure that is a stock (yet not common) 40 Ford color. My brother restored his 40 standard to that color. Lion blue is the name of the color.

Oh yeah, if you want a color sample, I will get one from my brother. Also can give you the paint formula (sikkens).
