Awhile back we were talking about radios/cd players and someone mentioned that there is an anntenna on the market that is a wire that you run through your headliner on glass cars only. I would like to look into this setup. Does anyone have an address or E-mail for this company? Thanks. RRM

I installed one in my car, too. Dakota Digital has them and so does Yogi. I think I got mine from Yogi (I've gotten to the point where I have order so much stuff it is starting to get blurry).

I have used thaty type antenna in steel cars with very poor results, perhaps a glass car is differant.I just installed a basic telescoping antenna under the dash in my 37...I had to remove the dash anyway, but thats another story...and it works great. It cost $10 at the stereo supply and I just hung it under there with a couple of zip ties(I know Grant will be proud of me!)Just an alternative!

Instead of heat you just have to have someone in the car to help keep you warm.

I'm trying to figure how this went from antennas to zip ties (and I made a little tool years ago to reuse them too lol), to climate control??
Sorry Grant but "zip cord" was that split pull-apart stuff used on lights, appliances, lectric drills etc bud!!
Gotta keep yur zips straight! lol were people that used them called "zippers"?? if so, what would the gals be known as.....Richard????????? FredP

Are you a gold chainer if you reuse your zip ties? I have a little tool to undo them so I can use them over. I'm almost as frugal (cheap) as Dave. I bought a bag with 100 ties in it about 10 years ago and still have 90 of them left. Hey, it almost cost a buck for that bag. That's almost as cheap as garbage bag ties that I use too. With all the money I've saved, I can afford some simulated billet, plastic hub caps at K-mart....when they're on sale.

Geez George, only 100? 5 years ago at York me and a friend cleaned house at one of the flea market spots. Guy had a deal going 1 bag (275 in all) for $.75.....I think I swiped 6 bags from 'em and my buddy got 10 at bare minimum, and we use 'em religously. Anything that we work on that needs tied up and we dont feel like reaching for tape, we break out the Zip Cords.

Another wonderful invention I thank the lord above for every day! LOL

These type of antennae work well in glass cars as long as they are between the glass and any aluminum backed heat barrier material. They are problemmatic with steel cars because the metal interferes with reception.
