Whenever someone speaks out against an organization, or that organizations actions, it seems that in short order the term "bashing" comes out. What is bashing? I checked my Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary for a definition. Bash: to strike violently: to injure or damage by stricking; 2:a forceful blow. If one speaks out against a wrong, injustice, unprofessionalism, rudeness or attitude is that bashing? If what one says is true, is that bashing? What is bashing?

It rather complicated but it boils down to human nature. If you have a friend, or you like a certain company, you publically won't go out and say anything against them . Its called being diplomatic....but....if there was no connection to that person/company, then you would see a different reaction..Its quite normal...its similar to you meeting someone for the first time, you make your judgement and anyone from then on has trouble convincing you that you're new friend has flaws....you instinctavely take their side.

Part one of the definition would pertain to a verbal strike. To tell your story once would be relevent. To campaign your opinion endlessly would be bashing.IMHO

In the instances that I've seen the reference made here, several people, many who don't know each other, the only thing they have in common is what or who they are speaking out against, is this bashing?

While not exactly boring, I find most frustrating that peolpe never seem to take a stand on anything. If someone else wants to do it, that ok, it's their right. A person's rights or an organizations rights ends when they start to infringe on the rights of another. Several wars have been fought and too many lives have been given to make sure that the little person's rights are protected. Fairplay, evidently is a thing of the past. Now it's the almighty dollar and whoever has the most, is right. That's BS.

Yes, there is verbal bashing as well as phyical. One of the house rules we have here on this site is no car bashing. Keeps things civil. If we didn't have that rule I might have posted my opinion on those wheels that the A-guy is looking for and told him that I think they are butt ugly and that no car on this plant would look good with them on. But I didn't cuz we don't allow "bashing" here. :)))
I think the wheels George has on his new project are ugly too, but he already knows how I feel about them. :)) If George still has those wheels on that rod when he's finished, then Debb can have the first ride in that rod cuz I wouldn't be seen in it! LOL What she's NOT going to get a first ride in/on is his Harley! LOL
Disclaimer: this post was meant to be funny and was not meant to hurt anyones feeling about their choice in wheels.
Long live 17 inch billet wheels! :))

This is the BASHING thread though. Hopefully it's not your van cuz it's about as ugly as the wheels!!! LOL :))))
I grew up in the San Diego area and we lived right next door to the president of a huge van club. Mind you, this was the early to mid-70's. Besides pot growing in his backyard, the street was always filled with those type of vans, cuz everyone hung out at his place. He was probley one of the reasons my folks moved us back to Michigan! LOL

Yes, I'm sorry to say, it was my van. The photo doesn't do it justice tho, the flames were various candy apple colors. heck, back then we were all so blown out we couldn't tell the difference anyway.
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder ;)) it had won it's fair share of dust collectors at van ins in the late 70s. Me thinks it's one of those, ya gotta be there to believe it things lol.
(Someties I still don't believe it tho).

smoking? what's that? In truth, this this time we've got it beat for sure! Two days and NO withdrawal symtoms at all! Seems I had a nice little discussion with G-d the other night, He said He'd let me continue breathing if I'd like to quit, sooooooooooooo......we made a deal.
(in truth, I already DO feel better, even refused to grub a smoke from one of the few smokers at our wensday night hangout).
UGLY???????? Sheesh, wasn't back then, then again as i said before, ugly is in the eye of the beholder so...

I quit smoking on Nov 11th 1988...The reason I remember it so well was it happened on the same day I had quad bypass surgery!! Still working so far....
BTW, Anyone remember my van that had the bumper sticker that read: "Don't laugh! Your daughter may be in here!"
It was a beat up old VW bus so ya probably remember seeing it.....it went every where I did altho I remember painting it many times in what I thought was very tastful colors...

Street is Neat, so are Feet.
I had to be different. I had a 63 GMC panel truck.
I can still remember being stopped, having the cops question me, then say, "We're going to search your truck OK?" Then turn and look fast to see if I looked scared.
I always told them I could give a rats arse what they searched.
Glad they never asked me to empty my pockets!
Ah the good ole days! hehe

My van got as far as primer and a mattress thrown in the back. I held a large cooler, coleman stove, and room for a dozen young and crazy kids cruizing the east coast for a place to crash, with loud Skynard blasting out the 8 track, and any beach we could sneak on. Glory days if I could remember that long ago.
Kids? I wave to them all just in case.

You asked "what's Bashing"? "Well, anyone who likes 37 express' is just a joke. And as a Teacher who better but you to know what anything means, and that reminds me, what's the big idea of using the most crappiest dictionary in history? The Webster's Ninth???
Anyone who likes that dictionary is nothing more than....than...Poo-poo".
Bashing is sorta like that. You gotta understand that this is the best I can do under "clean" circumstances.
