The engine in my 58 is a '78 350 from a truck. Outward appearance is totally stock, except for the Edelbrock intake and carb. It has the original HEI distributor. Finding a set of plug wires to fit this engine is near impossible. Two trips to Autozone; the first set (Bosch) weren't long enough, number one was too short. Second trip, used house brand, no.1 was long enough, but had to wrap other wires around distributor a few times. Semi-custom set was yellow! No way!
Give up on AZ, fine an AC/Delco dealer, get a set from him. He says these will fit. Yeah, right. I must have lost the wire stretcher somewhere. What give? Anyone got an answer?
At AZ, we tried different years, and even some different engines.

I just got a set of wires from SRS. I haven't installed them yet but they are cut to fit. They are available in different colors also. Give Dick Z a call.

Hey Rick, yes, I'm running them under the exhaust manifolds (ah, the days of working on Fords lol). Daryle, where did you get Taylor wires? Black is fine with me. Thanks guys.

Phil,I get my wire sets at a rather large parts house locally but Summit,Jegs and Speedway have them,Speedway has the best price I believe at $45 as I recall.Make sure you get the resistor core instead of the wire core or it will raise hell with your stereo.I pay about $50 locally but no freight and they stock them.I have used Moroso wires with good results as well, there is a world of differance between good wires and the K-Mart variety.See Ya!!

Phil, these are 8mm Taylors and they come with the plug end terminated then you cut to whatever length you need and crimp the distributor teminal on. They come plenty long to route them most any way you want. They're probably the ones Steve was talking about. The boots are silicone and don't burn. Everything about them is high quality in my opinion. These have over 55,000 miles without any problems.

I believe Summit Racing has a universal set that are in fact Taylor wires. One end is already on, the other just cut to fit.
I used these on my Dad's car...worked great. Blue color tho
