Ignition Man returned my distributor unfinished because he found out I post occasionally on this site. All I am going to say about this Dave, and I mean this sincerely, is get some anger management therapy--you are a heart attack waiting to happen.

Geeze, he's still holding a grudge against 1374 members when less than 10 have communicated with him. Hell, maybe some of us agreed with him or didn't even see the post. Unbeleivable!!

Did Dave suggest you install a Pertronix in your distributor? LOL
I can never understand businessmen who behave this way. One day he will run out of people who want his product. How many potential customers has he already lost?

I guess he doesn't need the business, so, I won't send him mine, like I planned. Thanks for the heads up, you saved me some trouble!

Street is Neat, so are Feet.
Rumrumm, sorry this has happened to you, I really am. It's truly amazing how long this crap as lasted.
Then again, I don't know why I'm so amazed when all you have to do is look at who's involved.
Dave: Low-self esteem, feels as though his product and his alone is the best and feels like he must defend it with his life. When in fact, he should let the product do the talking and he can reap all the rewards, but for some reason, he can't let himself do that.
You're right, He needs therapy.
Steve: Also suffers from Low-self esteem and Must, without a doubt, prove his point no matter how long it takes or who it might hurt. While he might not out and out say that Daves product is this or that or anything at all BAD(per say) about the product, his "manner" is what tends to set other people off about his intensions.
His "I'm an Engineer, so I know best" attitude, that comes across(most times)puts a lot of people off. Whether or not it's intentional, who knows, but the perseption of this 'Tude is evident.
He, also, needs therapy.
We have Dave who's the match and Steve who's the Gasoline, or in this case, the Nitro!!
While one might start a fire, the other just can't seem NOT to let it go, but instead, feeds that fire with diatribe after diatribe.
Like they used to say in grade school: If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all. Both should "Live" that advice.
I know I'd like to use Dave's product, cause I think it will do what he says it will do.
Unfortunately, he has chosen to view you(and I guess the rest of us) as people he doesn't want to deal with only because we're members of SRS. Which, everyone knows, shouldn't matter if I'm a member or you're a member, because Business is Business.
Hopefully, both can look at themselves in the mirror and see that they have certain limitations, like we all do, and learn to live with those.
Hopefully.
If Dave and/or Steve would like to comment, please address it to me off-line, so we can keep this from getting like the others threads, cool? Good.

I think it would be best to let this thread die. I was very reticent about posting anything, because I knew it had the potential to stir things up again. But I felt people should know not to send him anything if you post on this site because you will be wasting your money on shipping.

Sure seems like a lot of people both here and on Hamb (enigma57) have ESP and know exactly what others are truly thinking. I've followed the thread from the beginning having run across it accidently on HAMB. I have no feelings as to who started what but the bickering and reading between lines deserved the "end of thread"..With my present iginition problems, probably only Dave could have given me some ideas but thats gone know. Not very many on here have played with odd fire V6 motors and the setup required. And the special distributer also required. No room for HEI and Mallory doesn't help much either. I'll figure it out on my own and figure that no one else on here will ever have the same problems or fixes..
I for one, feel that altho Dave may have a short fuse (and very few people on here can't say they don't have one), Mine can be short especially around pretenders and wannabes and not just in mechanics either. His product, from reading about him, was a good viable one that many people used and will continue to use..My temper can be tested real easy at times but I also will dwell on it for awhile and eventually try to patch things up with whomever.
Life is too short to make enemies of basically good people and I've learned to keep my disagreements to myself unless there are personel attacks on me. With a friendly attitude, you attract more friends which are basically the same and good friends have been made on here not just because we all like cars either. As I grow older, I learn to keep my tounge still when I see what used to put me into orbit! Sometimes a friendly reminder WITH a smile on your face goes a long ways and also in my direction too. I've never been one to belong to clubs but a group of friends that enjoy each others company at a Saturday morning breakfast make for strong bonds of the best kind of friendships that last until we're gone.
I'm sorry for going on about this but it's the first time I've had since I can remember that putting what you believe into words makes ya feel better.

It sure sounds like we are making Steve our scapegoat here for all the differences and issues that purportedly caused Dave to leave. I certainly don't agree with Fred about the need for "therapy", whereas I really don't know these guys at all and I don't use that term loosely.
While I believe that Steve "fostered", to use his words, some real issues questioning Dave's theories, there were piler-oners that are as guilty as anyone else bestowing all kinds of kind things to say as well, if you get my drift.
I will take the blame for posting a thread over there at CT that I should not have at the time that helped this whole debacle as well.
It's time to put this to bed forever in my opinion and those who have participated to take us here need to take responsibility for it either privately or wherever.
I know I will never post on this again, it's just to volatile for LOTS of reasons, not just what is in front of us.
